  1. Paint on . . . legs attached . . . progress!
  2. Primed and pre-shaded and working on some sub-assemblies. Here's where she sits today:
  3. Will I be watching this one with great interest? (see avatar) Oh yeah! Looking good so far. Keep up the good work!
  4. Got some pit work done today along with some other "under the hood" type of work. This is the Cutting Edge resin pit and seat (Eduard PE handles added):
  5. Okay, I'm punching out all the holes before i close up the fuselage and I have drilled out the location holes for the scoops on the exhaust. Now, with the scoops in place, I notice they are slightly askew. Is that the correct placement, or should they be more parallel with the nearby panel lines?
  6. Thanks for the link to some great shots!
  7. Thanks for the info. Very helpful indeed.
  8. No, going to Fly U.S. Navy with this one!
  9. A little dry-fitting to check clearances. Looks pretty good at this early stage in the game!
  10. As far as the Seamless Sucker intake goes, it does have the forward gear well attached to the underside of the intake but, to be honest, the Aires froward gear bay was better detailed. Actaully the intake pictured is the kit intake. I figured it would be easier to remove the gear well from the kit plastic rather than the cast resin part. So I created my own seamless intake and will attach the Aires gear bay to it and be good to go. I hadn't thought about Cobra Company's white metal landing gear. I just may have to take a look at that!
  11. Here's my latest project, the Hasegawa 1:48 F-8E. It's not only my first Crusader build, but my first "full-meal-deal" build with more resin and PE than I've added to all my previous builds combined! Should be fun.
  12. Thank you for the kind words. Yes, the nozzles are OOB. They are a bit fiddly, but with some patience can pull off a convincing look in the scale. Yes, they are the kit decals. No trouble with them, even though they are quite old. They are on the thick side, but they stayed together and snuggled down with an application or two of Solvaset.
  13. Here's the Hasegawa 1:72 F-15C Eagle built OOB with the addition of Steel Beach intake covers.
  14. Nearing the finish line. Had to go back and reduce the metal around the top exhaust (I had it extending too far forward, originally). Now I just need to get the bang seat installed, landing lights, and the nav lights painted. Should be done later today.

  16. Got to the decal stage and realized the stencil/data markings I had in the box were for a 1:48 kit not 1:72 . . . doh!!! Until I find the correct size decals to stencil out this bird, this is where I stand:
  17. Tony, I may have taken a little creative liberty withe sharkmouth and the AK codes. The box art showed a silver Mustang with sharkmouth with GA codes . . . .
  18. My one-week project. Nice change of pace from the Hasegawa Hornets I'd been working on for the past couple of months.
  19. Just messin' around this week with an itty-bitty Mustang. Almost done..... Oh . . . and I got a little work done in an Eagle, too:
  20. . . . . and just how did you get that Hasegawa intake to look so nice?
