  3. Thanks, Shaun. No real problems at all. Black Box pit was a great fit and the Sierra Hotel Models seamless intakes were basically a drop fit! The Academy Hornet is a joy to build.
  4. I used Mr. Color paints for the correct FS colors. The bluish tint is probably due to the lighting and my photo editing.

  9. I've been working on this one for the better part of the last couple of months. This is the Hasegawa 1:48 A-7E with the following add-ons: Rhino seamless intake Areo-Master decal markings Eduard color PE for the IP unkown maker of resin seat I also used the Eduard masks to get the canopy and windscreen double-masked. Looks good sitting next to the VA-86 F/A-18C in my display case! (Now to track down some VA-86 decals for the A-4!)
  10. Nice one, Lloyd! Always enjoy your work.
  11. tough lighting conditions to shoot in, but it's always a good day when you see military hardware airborn! Just a few more:

  13. Picked this one up at the Modelpalooza contest in Orlando a couple of months ago. It came with resin cockpit and one-piece resin corrected wing. Fit was superb and markings are from the kit. Final glamour shots:
  14. I'm enjoying some Thanksgiving vacation time by finishing a few projects on my workbench. This is my first ever airliner build. I'd heard so many good things about the Zvezda kit (and they were all true). It's a great kit with fantastic. I went with Draw Decals 44s-787-6 "Flight of Fancy" depicting what might-have-been with TWA. Enjoy! (btw, the cat came in for the "scale effect").
  15. Kit: Hasegawa F/A-18C Decals: Afterburner Paint: ModelMaster Light Ghost Gray, Dark Ghost Gray AM: Resin intakes, resin seat, Sidewinder and Sparrows from spares box
  16. Nearing the finish line on this one and thought I would share a few pics. Hasegawa offering with Afterburner decals:
  17. I was flying home from OH-FL via Southwest airlines. Our plane had a leak in the brake hydraulics and our flight was delayed for 5.5 hours while they brought the part in on another flight and proceeded to repair our stricken bird right there in the ramp. However, if my flight had left on time I would not have been around to see these two surprises: First, SWA's newest State Plane, Florida One: A few moments later this came taxiing by the window: Didn't realize it was taxiing out to take off, but a few moments later it did! I saw it orbit the airport and thought it was gone, so I put the camera away. 3-4 minutes alter I heard a noise and glanced out the window and saw this guy doing a low-level, high-speed pass down the runway . . . and that was the last I saw of him.....
  18. Just a quick build to work on some painting skills to try to break up an all black paint scheme, and to test out a new method (for me anyway) of mounting and posing aircraft in flight.
  19. A friend of mine built this Tamiya F-16 for me. I am thrilled to have it in my display case. Extras include: CrossDelta Scab plates, Aires exhaust, JDAM from Hasegawa weapons set and Afterburner decals.
  20. With the help of a friend, this past Friday I was able to surprise Col. Don Waddell (retired USAF) with a model of the F-15A he was flying for the 32nd FS out of Soesterberg AB in the early 1980's when he was selected as the "Best Eagle Driver in Europe". Don was thrilled with his model and appreciated the little touches I did to backdate the Hasegawa "C" to an earlier "A" model. Here's the pics of the presentation.
  21. Terrific build. Love the choice of markings. The paint work and weathering looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
