  1. Daimler armoured car, a resin 1/35 kit from Accurate Armour.
  2. Thanks Cliff, feels good to get it done. I did a bit, may do more in the future if it goes into a diorama. Thanks Pat, Very cool playground equipment. I really appreciate this group build, gave me the nudge to get this great kit done. More pictures in the gallery.
  3. I finished painting the figures, they represent fighters in the Warsaw uprising. And the base is started, still needs some debris before I paint it.
  4. Since my Daimler armoured car is nearly done I perused my shelf of misfit toys and found another group build model that stalled. It was the dio base that bogged me down here, but in the spirit of New Years resolutions I'll get stuck in and crack on.
  5. Painted with a mix of Tamiya buff and yellow, and with 11th Hussars decals from the Bronco Humber armoured car kit. Next will be filters and weathering. And maybe some stowage.
  6. After a few hours today I finished the assembly. I really got bogged down with the resin and photoetch and needed the time away and this Kuta group build to light a fire.
  7. I started this model in the Anything but Injection group build last year. It's a tricky build but a really nice kit that deserves to be finished.
  8. Here's a set from Mithril Miniatures, a 54 mm model of Gollum and Bilbo Baggins telling riddles in the dark. I've sunk the little white metal base into a block of yew and sort of sculpted the old woodgrain into rocks. Might need a bit more putty and sculpting to be convincing. The biggest challenge will be making it dark, Gollum's eyes were the only source of light but how the heck do I paint that. We'll see.
  9. Wow, the stakes are high! Interesting project.
  10. Mostly got his face painted. Just need a few more highlights and shadows.
  11. I can't remember who made this model, But I'm pretending it's an adventurous Took abroad in Middle Earth. I sculpted the stone and added some random carved signs. The base is a crusty piece of yew. I'm looking forward to painting all the excellent detail. I'
  12. Cool, I'm working on a similar conversion of an Airfix British cavalry kit to Theoden from Lord of the Rings. I look forward to following your progress.
  13. Thanks everyone, I figure I'll finish it on time. The yardwork can wait.
  14. Summer is a busy time, I finally got back to the bench to paint the base coats and made a base. Lots of detail painting and basework to go.
  15. Oh wow, I loved watching you build the Bristol Scout. This build is already inspiring.
  16. Beautiful model of an interesting airplane, thanks for showing your process.
  17. Thanks Colin, They've only done a few odd but interesting 1/35 kits,
  18. I have this book, and the Peninsular War, and American War of Independence books from the same series. I like them but I'm no expert. There is only one view of each uniform presented. The pictures have character but are not very large, crisp, or detailed.
  19. Looking good, and thanks for the book recommendations.
  20. Nice camouflage. That is a lot of slack compared to photos of the tank. I seem to remember the kit tracks being very soft rubber with good detail.
  21. Haha, thank you. The bike model is really nicely designed. No flash and everything fits well. The rest of the kit is a different story, some flash, softer details and softer plastic. But it's together now. And the marine is assembled with a flattened solder rifle strap.
