Yes that is the illusive beast. Might be interested at the right price. Think I'll send Hannants an email also.

Hi all. I was wondering how to contact Airwaves as I can't find a web site for them. I would like to encourge them to re-release their Sea King HC 4 detail set for 1/72. There is quite obviously a market for it as the odd few that pop up on ebay go for around £100. I'm afraid that is a bit out of my price range but shows there are people keen to get hold of the set. If anyone is interested in the HC4 detail set please respond to this thread so if the people of Airwaves view these forums they might see there may be a good oportunity for them in the re-release of the set. Happy modeling.

Hi, I'm also interested in this kit. Does anyone else have one that they are willing to sell? Cheers.

Look what Hannants have listed for future release!

Doesn't look like this helo is going to be available till November! -
Ordered mine yesterday. The service you get from these guys is second to none.

I know it probably will be expensive but some of the Eduard camo netting would look great on one of these with some of Accurate Armours infantry equipment set. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68011

Great pictuers Phil. Thanks for posting. Do you have more of the Chinook? I'm sure it will be tricky but as I can't seem to find any M60Ds in 1/72 I haven't much choice. The nearest thing I can find is the guns with the Black Hawk but they still have the front hand guard and the rest of the detail is quite poor. I'll just have to open a new packet of scalpel blades!

Call it fate! I had ordered the Dragon HMMWV M1114 kit from an ebay seller but they sent me the wrong one. I was sent the M998 model which on inspection does have a M60 which looks very good. No hugely oversized barrrel like most I've seen. Ok it will need some work to make it a M60D but thats what this game is all about.

Looks realy great fermy. Good to see it in green as I expect a lot will be done out in desert colours. Mine is in the post although I doubt I'll get mine finished as quickly as yours. Thanks for letting us know how this new kit is.
-
Oh dear back to the drawing board on that one then. The blurb for the M1114 HMMWV does mention an M60. Are the guns in the hasegawa blackhawk kit M60Ds?
-
Just heard from Armycast. The WAH-64D set is in production and will be available from May with a set of decals being available the following month. Going by their other kits this will make for an excellent model. I can't wait!

I've been looking at the Dragon M1114 HMMWV in 1/72. Looks to have a good selection of weapons and they seem to look in propotion as far as I can tell from internet pictures. It seems alot of money to spend on an M60 though.
-
Thanks, they did. Unfortunatley they no longer seem to be available.

Hi I'm currently doing a 1/72 Chinook HC2 for an afgan diorama. I have got the amazing Armycast mini guns but have not managed to source a decent 1/72 M60 machine gun for the tail ramp. Anyone know of any kits that have any or any after market ones available? cheers all.

Nancho you are truly gifted. This model is just amazing, it looks so realistic you have done a superb job. One can only aspire.
-
It seems to sit better than the AA version. How does it compare so far?
-
Don't forget Aviation Workshop are releasing a 1/72 AH-7 in their Airframe range. Was due for release today but its been delayed
-
Any news on the Armycast conversion for WAH-64D?
-
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for Dave, but I can say this is a great little detail kit. CMK
-
Looks great. It will definately give the AA model a run for its money. Quite literally. Looking foward to its release.
-
eBay! Ofcourse. And there it is, all the rod I could want. How stupid do I feel now Thanks Mike.
-
I know this sounds daft, but I'm having trouble finding plastic rod in sizes from 2mm up to 10mm. All I can find in my local model shops and online is plastic tube and metal rod. Thanks.

I've emailed Gary at AW to see if Airfix will be producing a new Lynx kit and he said that they wont. The Airframe kit will use the old Airfix Lynx with new AW resin updates. He asked me to let him know if I know of any major problems with the Airfix kit. I have not used it, so don't know. If anyone does know of anything please let him know. Cheers. Matt. -
I'm realy disapointed! I've spent my afternoon trying to get the Aviation Workshop sand filters to fit correctly and come to the conclusion that they just don't fit. You can see in the pictures that the filters fit very flush to the engine casing. The 'dustbin' filters should be bigger than they are. This is quite a familiar characteristic of the modern in theatre Chinooks and on this model it just doesn't look right. The flat edge should be almost butting up to the helicopter surface which you can see in the second picture is not the case. I'm using the trumpeter kit so the AW filters may fit better on the Italeri/Airfix kits but they are supposed to fit this kit. I'm not sure what I can do other than scratch build my own

Wow. Thanks for that. I wonder if these are the rounds that they refer to in the video HERE. Wish I had sky now. Does anyone know where about on the helicopter the brass plaque is mounted?
