If you send out "a large quantity" then perhaps you are asking those for whom such a request is unreasonable, perhaps those from some distance away.  Eastbourne seems pretty distant to me, in Lancashire.  Should you perhaps try a more targetted approach?

When I send out invites I take into account the travelling distance involved so as journey time is not excessive.

  2. Not sure how to start this, but being the organiser of a established model show a couple of things spring to mind over the time I have been organising our show.

In these difficult times we clubs and traders should stick together and see us through it, but sadly that is not what is happening.

I send out a large quantity of invites to both clubs and traders for our show, a lot lot of clubs and traders do respond in a timely manner but the amount of clubs and traders that simply ignore emails is astounding, sadly some clubs and SiGs are the worst.

Just wondering why other clubs and traders are finding it difficult to respond to emails, even a polite "No thanks" would not go amiss.

What happens if a potential new member were to ask for info about a club via email, and the email was ignored, one lost new club member.

    What do other members think?

I know it's not the same and doesn't look as good, but I would suggest box-files to store the recent issues.

In Gary editorial, I have noticed they will be doing some special binders for this new binding, maybe all not lost, except for paper quality.

  4. Just received my March issue of SAM magazine, what have they done? It is now a perfect binding which means anyone with old style binders left they cannot be used with this new format.

The paper quality is more like newsprint style paper, hence the quality of images is not as good.

My opinion is they have made a big mistake to their flagship magazine.

  5. I enjoy reading the Paul Lucas Colour Conundrums, always able to come up with information that has apparently not been seen before.

With regards quoting model paint colour matches, I personally always take these references with a little caution and decide on the best paint to use from my personal experience, they can be used as a guide but that is about all.

I would sooner that reference numbers are quoted BS,FS or RAL Numbers.

I got this 1/72 resin Boulton Paul P.111 from a Facebook modeling page. The seller has listed dozens of similar kits, which I assume he bought in a collection sale. Has anyone seen similar kits?

Here's how it looked in the bag:

All of the various kits are similarly bagged and labeled, and none include decals or instructions. Here are the parts, top and bottom:

The casting seems very well done, with no bubbles or short shots, and the two-part wings and fuselage fit well. The only clue I have is that the fuselage breakdown is the same as the Pegasus kit, being split horizontally rather than vertically. The pilot's seat is also very similar. (Sorry, this is the largest image I could find.)

Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

This lower picture looks very much like a version of the Pegasus kit, without the sprues

For me they have been invaluable for lots of research. They have long been my 'go to' reference for many years, although some of the earlier publications can be difficult to find and expensive when you do.

    See PM

Guideline publications do a print to order for these books, so will only cost you cover price, see their website
