  1. mmmh again went out too fast ! So the theory you explained looks interesting with similar patterns on some small series coming out the factory and other patterns on the followers The pattern looks close to one of the 2 you showed us ; and as well of the 2 shown on the Kora decal sheet (72.319) that I will use ; see : On the sent photo, it's quite impossible to specify the upwing's pattern but so I think I will follow this scheme Christian
  2. Thanks Bjohn5 specially for the drawings Because I personnally own some downloaded pictures of that book but not the profiles The "319" looks like this "318" with light colour on rear third of the left tail boom ; on this picture it's obvious one plane has the same pattern and the second not So the theory you explained looks interesting with sm
  3. Too fast... For Graham : I think the enamel you talk are the orange range Hataka ? these colours seem quite close to good sources as dutch publications and IPMS Sweden Stockholm sources ( including FS and "close FS" references) My problem is not a shade one but a pattern one On the former Britm. link I sent , conclusions were satisfying about the global Hataka values of credibility And also discussions went to ways to dilute the paints
  4. I have checked a lot but will watch again for graham , I think the enmal you talk are the ornage range H
  5. Hello everybody I am building a 1/72 MPM Fokker G.1A and after weeks and weeks I am at the painting stage This building was not a gift of God because I had to correct many, many faults as much for the shapes as for the dimensions. The fact is that I studied a lot articles, scale, plans, internet chats, asf As I saw some criticals with tutorials for correcting the kit, I must say that I saw few finished building articles. To bring out a quite good one G.1 was a real calvary About the good color matches for the 3 tones cam pattern I have, after exchanges, a good idea and will use Hataka See: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235077039-dutch-cam-question-what-looks-the-real-camouflage-beige-like-like/ Now as I watch the different cam drawings proposed, I notice that there are many different interpretations. So I have some questions: 1) It seems there was no standard pattern as in the RAF… ? 2) And if, is something known about a system of A and B ( RAF type) patterns ? 3) Or was the cam pattern aleatory from a plane to the other (as in French 1940 Air Force) ? Specially what do our dutch modelers think ? Some of them wrote a lot on that plane My own special choice is the aircraft N°319 of 3. JaVA On the existing photos , it’s very difficult to have an exact idea of the pattern except, may be, for the light green grey color. Who could help ? who found a credible pattern drawing ? where ? Thanks christian
  6. About the gun post , the 7th, last, picture posted by Dogsbody shows perfectly the way of the gun's supply. The ammunition box is placed in front of the vertical bulkhead which supports the navigator's table . The supply band runs under the floor with above the cushion on which the navigator - bomber - gunner had to lie down to fire. I did my best to build this but I must admit few is seen at the end , as often ... Will try zoom pictures till I have time
  7. Ok with pleasure I searched : it was on hyperscale (although I had many exchanges on Britmodeller as well on different things) And yes it was started by Slywolf in 2015; I discovered that link in 2018 while buying 2 Blenheims together The link is : https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/viewtopic.php?p=2619779#p2619779 It has 3 pages; on page 2 there are many pictures with drawings of the correction. Mine were based on Sklywolf's project and I posted a picture with the 2 models, with and without modification. I was very anxious but finally the work is possible without "destruction" of the kit ! Sure better is to do it before buidling the wheel wells but I had no choice ... I posted also a quite nice Portuguese Mk IV picture taken at Telford 2018 on the competition tables. Nice done but ... wrong
  8. Hello Texas ! ( I have friends in El Paso) Yes I agree but (see quote) I don't think it would be possible to insert one to replace the wrong one ; anyway "high cutting in" would be necessary Actually about the nacelles I read the 2015 exchanges initiated by Slywolf ,an australian guy ( don't remember : here or on hyperscale ?) If somebody is interested I can post the links Fortunately it was just before painting and I cut the sticked wings with finished wheel wells (I watched : the MPM kit was anyway not of that level , ok Airfix but ...) I sweated but it worked with only microscopic holes to fill and no dammage inside wings ( many modellers on forums told they didn't dare to go on...) I add the round window beneath the fuselage's just on the evacuation hatch (and this exists ont the 48 as well ...) And replaced the sliding cockpit window because there was no mid-strip ( and in these case the 48 is ... false as well !!) And much work inside the wheel wells because my Pavla set is too crude and fits very bad
  9. Hello I started this topic in 2018 about searching details on this gun post. Note that the deleted pictures ( oct 29 2018) in posts of W. Lindekens and/or Dogsbody showed (I believe) the same drawings sent by Dogsbody some days ago ...? And that helped me a lot to overdetail the Airfix MK IV Blenheim in 72 scale It's finished with as well a MkI ; both on dioramas See first global shots , and next I will try to zoom what I did for that gun post Note that the wrong nacelles of the "new" Airfix 1/72 Blenheim are corrected on both models ; and other minor faults as well I was angry to see in 2019 that Airfix understood his mistake (to base the 72 model on the "Duxford-Bolingbroke" ! ) and corrected this on the 1/48 issue !! see you later and thanks to comme again on this post christian
  10. (reply gone too fast) I didn't understand they have 3 sorts of boxes Otherwise I bought 2 years ago another box which is red line "RAF Photo reco set" Few companies made the PR Pink And you'll find many versions of PRU Blue as well on the mar ket; I hope Hataka got the good shade What do you think ? The next would be Russian WW2 colors because here we have several controversies .... Christian
  11. Thanks a lot for all your answers that makes it very more clear ; I didn't understa Actually my dutch box is , yes , an orange line one So I will try the Tamiya yellow cap thinner
  12. hello everybody I plan to paint 2 Neverland Fokker 1940 planes ( D.XXI and G.1) and got the HATAKA paint set from Poland As I never used them , who can tell me which stuff to use for dilution ? And actually are they acrylic products or not ? It's not clear ; on the box you'll find the inscription "Lacquer based formula".... On another forum , guys used Lifecolor (acrylic) so ...??? Did somebody use Enamel dilution stuffs ? Second question : how is it with a brush for small applications ? You will say : "try" OK but not forbidden to ask ! Thanks Christian
  13. hello Netherland again thanks a lot that's what I thought Guys from the plane's country know the best But I think you have to wait a little bit for the pictures While working about the cockpit I unfortunately broke the canopy while sawing it ... I have to get another one ; I asked MPM but after a week no answer ... Do somebody know if they are kind about sending parts ? I told I would be ok to order something (that's the way a did once with Pavla) Vacu canopies exists from Pavla I mean , not ? And the engine looks bad , I didn't find another one in my bench cases ; I will buy the Kora extra resin engine Doesn't matter ; I have to start the Fokker G1 as well and this will be a challenge , many faults , I know... sleep well ! christian
  14. Hello both , hello alt-92 ( I hope it's not your age !) hello Netherland thanks a lot that confirms what I thought and the FS595 given codes are exactly these ones of IPMS Stockholm I'm waiting to receive the Hataka paint set from a polish friend, hopping a good fit I will post pictures when finished. The "together projected" MPM Fokker G1 is another type of challenge ... christian
  15. Hello everybody I am currently building 2 WW2 dutch 1/72 planes : Fokker D.XXI and Fokker G-1 , both from MPM. They will have both the 1940 cam : : Dk Brown undersides / Dk Brown – green – “beige” on topsides. I have some interrogations about this “beige” color… Some sources show a clearly yellowish ocher hue ( or even “heavy sepia”) : many profiles and even and the “replica built “ DXXI from dutch Soesterberg Museum show this strange bright color. Other sources, quite serious, as the excellent IPMS Stockholm Study give a more “creamish-grey” ( or “greyish-cream”), which anyway looks more pale (as on the BW photos). The close but less grey observation can be found on the MPM’s box- back of the D. XXI. Per example, on the KORA decals sets for these planes, the corresponding FS595 tint is 36360 (or 26360 because the gloss hue is not on reference). See your sample if you have one. In Military Aircraft Monthly of July 2010 ( page 32) , an article about D.XXI profiles even gives a more grey tint , a little bit greenish and says about camouflage & markings : “some sources indicate that these 3 colors were of german origin and equate to RLM 61 , RLM 62 , RLM 63” , so the last one has to be the mysterious color…? My opinion doesn’t join the last affirmation because the RAL german pre-war colors are well documented and RLM 63 really looks as a pure grey , without any creamish or greenish shade (2 Pictures following joined but may be modified by my scan ? please compare ) What is our community’s opinion? We sure have among us dutch members , not ? I founded out that quite always the countries citizens knew the best about some things. I am personally french and could tell about the various and complicated cam colors you could find in 1940 on our planes ! So I could also tell the real truth is often impossible to find for WW2 frecnh planes. I don’t think Dutch colors would present so many problems, so … Thanks for helping Christian
  16. Thanks from another "Chris" ! I knew this picture but it is the TB - 3 version , the original kit. On mine , a TB 5 , the fuel distribution comes from the left side. I choose that one because I made many pictures at the preserved one which stands in a museum 30 km from my home Christian
  17. hello I come again to this topic I am at the final stage of the Thomson TB-5 short run white metal 1/72 tender ( lenghened conversion from the Flighpath TB-3) The target is a diorama showing a Blenheim Mk I refueled by such a vehicle I remenber I once saw a picture with such a vehicle refueling a WW2 RAF aircraft but impossible to find it; Does somebody know such a picture ? Several researches on the net brought 0 information. Only pictures of preserved and restored vehicles. My special wish is to see how the fuel tube deploys from vehicle to aircraft. it seems the fuel comes from the left vehicle side (?) On all edited pictures that tube runs along the vehicle's side at rest. thanks a lot christian
  18. I agree totally , Graham ( specially as well about Tora x3 and all WW2 fans and modellers are ok with that, but watch the cinema-entries average of the 2nd "Pearl Harbor" with Ben Affleck …. ) And I feel the same fear about the new Midway one but I will try ... Has anyone seen the very, very poor movie "Bomber" from Russia ( or Ukraine ? Don't remember) ? Just boring Really to avoid
  19. Thanks both I agree totally about historical truth , that can't be got in movies. Even JWM said : "as just a film" We all know that a real historical report in general issued movies has 100% chances going to bankruptcy…. You have to get as many spectators you can So what I'm waiting for is just a quite good approach Next (after all) I will go to the cinema to see the new "Midway" US movie" No doubt it will be quite a cartoon ( thanks computers) but i and many share that the opinion that the old one movie was a very poor one christian
  20. Hello all I got some weeks ago a DVD of the movie "303 squadron" from Denis Dulic, polish movie I saw ther's another one, sometimes called "hurricane", movie from David Blair What about these 2 ? A polish friend (modeller and line-pilot) told me they are "just different" Sure in GB many watched them ( specially ou friend "303 squ " from NTG , polish air force spécialist who posted messages about white ID bands following my questions Which is the best one ? Other question : if a DVD of Blair's movie is available , which versions are Inside ? Probably not a french one ( I'm french) but how are the subtitles ? Is at least an english version WITH English sub titles possible ? I can whatch an english spoken film but subtitles nevertheless help me Thanks christian
  21. I think there's a misunderstanding I will paint it ALL blue grey (without brown ) , of course thanks for helping
  22. thanks Graham yes I remember now the Micky mouse used a black or very Dk grey with brown I think the museum's vehicle has been repainted as well; the cockade and the RAF inscription seem almost ridiculous big, not ? I will use the Dk blue grey pattern of 39-40
  23. mmmmh too fast here Following: …..Now this yellow/blue color scheme looks fine but I read it's an afterwar one; Is it right ? Thanks for advices so I would paint it RAF blue grey I find the "Mickey Dk Green-DK earth" scheme looks too much close to the Blenheim cam And to finish I am almost sure I saw at least one picture of that vehicle while refueling but I can't find it There are many pictures of restored TB 5 But does anybody own operational shots ? With a blenheim would be wonderful. I have a big doc on the Blenheim but not this wish Christian
  24. Hello everybody I am on the last stages of a Blenheim MK IF (1940) in 72 diorama. I will include a Thompson TB 5 tender This one is a lengthened TB 3 which , as I know , was only producted by Lead sled followed by Flightpath The conversion is not vey difficult but the kit stays quite crude. I am happy to have a wonderful AFV museum 50 km from my home and they got one, the TB-5 type ; see: and jljllj Now this coloscheme looks fine but I rea
