  1. Found this on Wiki. U.S. Army Air Corps Curtiss P-36C Hawk fighters of the 27th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group, at Wright Field, Ohio (USA), in 1939. The P-36s were camouflaged just for public relations for the U.S. National Air Races in a paint scheme that was never used by the USAAC.
  2. Not sure if this helps, found on page 15 of the Squadron Signal Typhoon/Tempest in action.

  9. I knew I had a picture that actually showed 2 x 500lb bombs in a Blenheim. Great thread with some very interesting information.....
  10. Hi John, Good luck with this, have good memories of this kit as it was the first big aircraft I built (soon followed by the Sunderland). I am sure you have seen this already, but if not have a look at this link. Book Online It is the first few pages of Target By Moonlight by Dennis R Field. The last 2 pages Show N3638 at Rochester (with fin flashes). Don't know if this helps, but the underside does look somewhat glossy. This is far from my comfort zone, but I hope it helps a little. All the best, H

  12. Found this picture online at a Greek site. Greek Model Club Don't know if it helps with colours, but wouldn't a squadron hack be in the same colours as the other planes in the squadron? Just a guess as this really isn't my area. H
  13. Have a look here, about 1:50 in shows Blenheims being bombed up, second one looks very much like a 500 lb GP to me.

  15. These might be of some use.....
  16. Hi, Take a look at post 13 here, Finnish Mk1. Pretty sure I recall reading stories of them dropping 500lb bombs on shipping early on in the war as well.... H

    Airfix 2012

Don't get too excited this is what it says in full on Cybermodeler : Airfix was back and their biggest news is 1/48 scale! 2012 will mark a new push into this scale with two helicopters (Merlin and Lynx), three modern tactical vehicles (Coyote, Jackal, and Land Rover), and a series of damaged buildings for dioramas/vignettes all to be released in 1/48. Would love a Hunter though.......
