  1. 014 for Foliage Green, 029 for earth is the quoted colours, not sure how accurate Vallejo's colour matches are though. Not sure about your underside colour, but if it is Sky Blue the you want 306.
  2. That's why I gave the link to that thread
  3. If you are doing a build thread it would be better in the Work in Progress sub forum. Yes unfortunately with some subjects Kits World like to put a lot of aircraft on one sheet and make you be a separate sheet with the codes and bits on, not great if you only want to build one or two aircraft from the sheet. It always hard to accurately match colours when you are working from photos, especially period ones, so I don't waste too much time trying to get accurate shades from something that isn't necessarily accurate.
  4. Humbrol 155 OD is quite a brown shade and not that dark, though in the past I have found up to four noticeably different shades from different tins!
  5. It's Olive Drab 41. OD varied in colour and changed quite a bit with weathering. Read some more here, Humbrol 155 is a fairly good OD, which I sometimes add some darker green too, to get a different less weathered shade.
  6. I see Loon Models are releasing separate ailerons and flaps, but the flaps are still design to be in the up position - a waste of £7.20 if you ask me, as all they have done is what can be done in about two minutes with a saw and a sanding stick! But hey some people just seem to like buying resin. Now if they had designed them to be down with the tracks and cutouts in the flaps it would be worth buying some. It would obviously cost more but would be worth it. All they have done here is copy what in the kit and split them.
  7. I prefer 1/48th for some subjects but prefer 1/72 for test aircraft as there is a lot more types available in the smaller scale, though I also am tempeted by this. Be interesting to see if they plan anymore test aircraft in 1/48th scale.
  8. No I agree it does look like it's in production which is why I was question the quality of the finish and originally though it was a temporary protective finish.
  9. If it's it production why has a lot of it appeared to have very badly applied - over spray on the tyres I can understand as they were probably just tyres used in production, but some of it looks like they've let a 5 year old loose with a paint brush and a spray gun?! Reference you blog is it possible to get access to it, I tried the other day when we were talking about OD and meant to ask you.
  10. Very nice, always like seeing a heavily weathered Russia Helo.
  11. I'm not sure what sort of coating that is, almost like a temporary protective one, but it looks like it's been sprayed in some areas and slapped on with a brush in others, quite roughly in both cases.
  12. A phone shouldn't make a difference to the compression, it looks like you have reduced the quality a lot in the settings. Try setting it to the max quality, or even a little bit down from that if you haven't got the space, but the pictures on my phone are only about 3MB at 100% quality, which will not show any artifacts.
  13. Very nice done Hornet. Nice weathering and great work on the cockpit. The only thing I don't like is the pictures - they have been so heavily compressed that there is very visible artifacts, making it quite distracting especially on the outside photos.
  14. Sergey lists some of the pros and cons of the N kits in WIP's link on Hyperscale. It would be a lot of work to produce a good detailed N from either kit, the Tamika kit does appear to be the easier root.
  15. 1/48th scale because as you know that's the only scale that Tamiya do the M in. Im surprised with all the new kits in the last few years that the N has been ignored in 1/48th and 1/72nd (like the Spit Mk.XIV), so I wouldn't be surprised to see a kit in the near future, especially in 1/72, probably just as you finish your conversion
  16. I'm planning to an N from the Tamiya kit and Segery has already done it (in WIPs link, his finished pictures are around somewhere). Get his resin wheel wells and prop, but yes the wing is the biggest change but not too difficult to modify. Easier to get an accurate N than trying to modify one of the N kits.
  17. Great collection, all really well done.
  18. Fantastic work, it really looks the part.
  19. Very nice looking 109. I use to use hair for aerial wires, until I realise that it's effected by humidity, so depending on what time of year I fixed it in place it could end up going slack at a later point.
  20. Beautiful looking Hurricane. Nice that you done the open hand hold with the step down, something that seems to get missed on a lot of models.
  21. MMP have an Orange series book on the 63 series which has some detail photos and drawings.
