  1. If Pocher made the engine with CI and alloys, sparkplugs, pressurized fuel system. This engine could be running. Well it just my imagination. Then model engineering will come into effect. Does this model have any parking brake opreation linked to service brakes. All your 1:12 builds are masterpieces. Too much patience required. Regards, Rishikesh
  2. Hi, Beautifully done. The complete engine weathering and colours are smartly done. The openable doors, hood, trunk flush fit when closed. I have MCG PE set for this 69 Shelby. I brought it to fit a AMT 68 Shelby GT500. But the front grill is totally changed in 69. The taillights are they clear parts or chromed ones like AMT? Cheers, Rishikesh
  3. Hi, Very nice build, minor imperfections make a model unique. I will not worry about the sun for photographs, the clouds act like a filter for light. Rishikesh
  4. Thank you gentlemen for appreciating my model. I had lost my interest (mojo). But then britmodeller has so many WIP which kick start u to start new kit. Regards, Rishikesh
  5. Finally completed after more than a year. Missing roof air horns. I lost the horns and side mirrors, remade the side mirrors from brass wire.
  6. Hi, Very nice and tiny. The weathering looks like sand dust to me? Cheers, Rishikesh
  7. Hi, Beautifully deatiled kit. Can the V engine be displayed after assembly? I have one ASAM Kenworth kit without engine. How are u going to fix the parts - soldering or glue? Hope to see more soon. I hope www.asam.co.uk will be able to help on the pannels. Cheers, Rishi
  8. Hi, What is the scale of this model? It will make a great off roader. If its 1:24 there are lot of resin off road tires on ebay. Rishi
  9. Very Nice. What is Disco Body? Did you upgrade the rear trailing arm for this CC-01? Recently i painted a FJ cruiser for friend. He said the OE rear trailing arm was weak link and had a upgrade metal one. Rishi
  10. Lovely Build. The wheels and tires are very well detailed.
  11. Hi, Waiting to see WIP. Thanks for sharing the video, so much power to handle with those large drum brakes. What if it was tested on the Bonneville salt flats. The movie " World's fastest Indian".
  12. Fantastic build. Is this a 1:24 scale? GMC truck model kits are few like Brigadier, topkick. The GMC engine bonnet style gives the powerful look. Rishi.
  13. Hi, Nice CRX. Is your CRX with a 2.0 ltr engine? I have seen a few here in Dubai, the local are crazy about them. The paint issue looks like Orange skin. I would not recommend sanding off plastic primer. Rather use a good quality etch grey primer on first base. Prepare the bare body shell with fine 800 -1500 sanding. Use a base colour white before laying the original paint. allow paint to cure fully between coats and sanding. Also airbrush with right pressure and paint consistency will help. Rishi
  14. Lovely job. Recently I saw a couple of real ones at auto show. Waiting to see those 20 more models and the wire wheels in making. Thanks for sharing. Rishi
  15. Clean and precise. Lovely paint job and assembly. Nice to meet u. You can order paint from www.hlj.com. Since most colours are water based like Vallejo. Check www.1999.co.jp/eng. Keith what will be customs duty in UK. Its 4% of the total invoice in Dubai. Most of the time the model kits and toys are not charged any customs duty. Cheers, Rishi
  16. Stunning build. The Italian red is very well finished and adds lot of realism. I am getting tempted to buy this kit. Thanks for information on fit issues, engine grill mesh decal. This project is sure interesting with a bit of research. Rishi
  17. Very nice. Robust little Mini cooper. I watched many early movies of Michael Caine after seeing The Italian Job. Even the latest Harry Brown.

    Painting white

Hi, I too had problems with white before. The TS27 matt white never covered the area, Humbrol white is good but takes 2 weeks to dry for sanding/ polishing and worst are cheap local paint dry while sparying. I think its the pigment in colour. Few years ago HLJ sold some of the Gaja colours, the white is very good. Recently i have redone my HO scale Autocar in a Spies & hecker white provided by a collegaue. I used a grey primer and then the white. Also mentioned above posts Lighting helps to see the area covered while AB Cheers.
  19. I had this crazy paving problem while painting 250 GTO. Mistake was that i sprayed 2K clear over Tamiya paint. Sometimes the last coat is not well cured to take the gloss. Must be compatibility issues as Steve mentioned. Recently my Colleauge at Body & paint shop mentioned that good quality thinners make lot of difference. He is airbrush artist and does freehand airbrushing. I had some SPIES HECKER thinner and paints and re done my Autocar WIP. Cheers, Rishi
  20. Realistic weathering. The aluminum weathering, front forks all look real. Cheers, Rishi
  21. The cab was sprayed Tamiya light sea grey to act as primer. The white enamel (local paint) coat was repeat mistake. This paint dries out fast while spraying. Used Revell 37 matt for rust and sprinkled salt on areas where rust and paint chip shows. I read this technique on www.scalemodelguide.com. The cab side engine panels were applied masking fluid (ruins brush in single use) and then sprayed Revell gloss black. The White enamel grain is visible. Hope it filters out after gloss clear and weathering. The wheel rims are painted Tamiya red and brown mix. Thanks for the advise Steve. I will fix axles non moving. This will help to get correct clearance for the fenders. Narrow fenders will look right scale. Regards, Rishi
  22. Thanks. These are not old, brought them 6 years ago. www.truckstopmodels.com www.hobbylinc.com www.zyconmodels.com www.ralphratcliffemodels.com These sites still offer a large variety in HO scale.
