  1. I know one of the Test Pilots who flew the VAAC T2 so I'll let you know
  2. It depends which airfame you want to to, some were painted MSG overall and some were still in the older DSG/DCG schemes. I should check the aircraft by using www.Airliners.net for pictures of the Harrier GR9/9A
  3. UKAR is running a topic in the waffle section
  4. During the last major air-ex that the Harriers flew in there was images posted of T12's fitted with the TIALD pod in the Fast FAC role The USMC TAV-8B's cannot do this role:-(
  5. A image has been posted on Twitter by Wing Commander Gale, the Dambusters' Boss, of the proposed Tornado GR4 70th Anniversary tail for the Squadron. Superb.
  6. I beleive it would have been the GR5's avionics and not the GR7's so the jet would have kept the LRMTS fairing. Also, BAC/Hawker Sidderley did come up with the "Tin Wing" GR5 by putting a new big wing on the GR3's fuselage.
  7. The Nitro bottle covers on the BOL are either black or grey so you'll have to check the photos of the jet that you want to do.
  8. The aerial was fitted to those Tonkas operating in the Sandpit (Afhganistan) and are mainly based at Marham in a pool of jets for that theatre of operation.
  9. I have been kindly asked by a freind to build a Harrier GR9 (the Airfix kit version) of former No.41 Squadron's ZG857/EB-Z in the marking that it flew in on the Harrier's last day. Has anyone got a spare set of marking for the jet in No.1 Squadron's markings with the "EB-Z" in 1/72 scale that they would be willing to part with????? I hope that ladies and gents can help me with this task. Harrierpilot.
  10. All AV-8B and B+ wings can mount the plyon but the Yanks have not wired them up like the RAF's GR9s. And the targeting pod can be mounted on the CL plyon
  11. I've picked up Heritage Aviation Models 1/32nd scale conversion for the Tornado F3 and on about getting a second for a EF3 version of the aircraft. Sorry but I couldn't wait for Trumpeter to come up with theirs. 2 years today since the beloved Harrier departed the RAF
  12. Flightpath should be soon releasing a 1/32nd scale version of Brimstone. - it's a case of keeping you eye on the website.
  13. The T12 had the frog eyes like the GR9/9A on top of the wing and a couple was painted in th MSG scheme and one T12 was a T12A
  14. The T10/12 Harriers were wired to take the TIALD or Sniper pod on the No.4 pylon like the GR7/9 and could be used in the Fast FAC role.
  15. The 6 shot pod was used as a "show of force" to tell the Taliban to "B****r" off and the 19 shot was used with the HE warheads when they didn't. In later ops two 19 shot pods were the normal load.
  16. No. All the leeming and Leuchars Squadrons had some MSG F3's. The ones I know of is ZE907/DA on 11, 25 and 111, ZG780/XXV on 25, ZG757 was MSG until it was painted all balck on 43 and ZE734/JU was on 111
  17. The 1,000lb "dumb" bomb wasn't carried that much on the Harrier GR7A/9A in the "sandpit" but both a 540lb bomb (air burst or ground burst versions) were carried on the No.1 and 9 pylons of aircraft carrying the CVR-7. The 1,000lb bomb was on either the No.3 or 7 pylon
  18. Superb set of images. the AV-8A is in fact a AV-8C with the "LIFT" improvements on the gun pack and the slim lights.
  19. So that's why it's called Dirty Harry!!!!!!
  20. This image was taken just before she entered the JUMP hanger to be brought up to GR9 standard. Sadly ZD404 was one of the GR7s "Chopped" by the Labour Government of the day to save money(?) If you wat to put the image of "Lucy" onto the jet then it's the "old" weapon set up. 30th September - Happy Birthday Michelle
  21. If your going to put CVR-7's and 540lb bombs on your Harrier GR7A you need to finish it has "Michelle". "Lucy" was a "Bomber" with the TIALD pod and the 1,000lb LGBs. IF you can get the decals
  22. It's a good thing I managed to get a 1/48th scale decal sheet directly off Southern Sky Models a couple of months ago, its' a superb sheet.
  23. There's been a "new" EA-18G Growler kit been released by Italeri in 1/48th scale and it's being advertised in Austrialia that it's got the RAAF markings in the box as well as four US Navy Squadrons. There's no word that the European released kits have got these No.6 Squadron markings for A44-213 to 224
  24. The two Tonkas I saw at this year's RIAT had all three sets of wheels "on weight" on the deck before the bucket deployed.
  25. I remember ZD403/32 having "Katie" on the nose at the same period of time
