  1. You will find that the colour of ZA600 is classed at BMW Silver like the tail on Harrier GR9A flown by the Squadron's Boss in 2007. I shot the same question to the No.41 Squadron/FJWOEU when I was commissioned to build a model of it for the crewroom.
  2. I have two; One: a 2 3/4hour tanking mission with No.216 Squadron on the 19th January 1990 refuelling five Buccaneer S2s head for Gib. Two: "Flying" the Harrier GR9 sim at Wittering in 2009.
  3. No.1435 Flight in the Falklands are not on shields. But the jet would have looked better with a red and white strip across the top of the fin. 50 shade of grey is not a paint chart for modern fast jets!!!!
  4. Revell's Harrier in 1/48th scale can either be built has a GR7 or a GR9
  5. I went up to Leeming to the RTP Flight on Wednesday and, was allowed to do a special project with ZH552/HW of No.111 (F) Squadron. Also in the hanger was a pair of Tornado GR4, which I think one was ZD892/TG, ex- Shawbury and, the other was ZD850/111 of No.617 Squadron which were being worked on. ZH552 was in the hanger for the removeal of the ejection seats before being returned to a HAS on No.25 Squadron's site and it's still got the canopy off ZE734/JU fitted. The sad thing is that there's only eight F3 left although the Station Commander is trying hard to get one for display at the newer main gate.
  6. The Lancaster also flew with the AJ-G of No.617 Squadron.
  7. With the US Navy downsizing four CVW all with their VAQ squadrons operating the EA-6B it could mean that the EA-18G's being built for these squadrons "may" be offered to the RAAF??
  8. I have got a 1/32nd scale Tornado GR1 and a Flightpath GR4 conversion which I would love to finish has this jet. Happy 70th Birthday No.617 Squadron
  9. RAF types: GR1, GR1T (Trainer/two sticker - the "T" was dropped in the 1990's), GR1A, GR1B, GR1P (only one produced and operated by the RAE), F2, F3, GR4, GR4A. UNITS: IDS/GR1 & 4 TTTE, TWCU, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 31, 41, 617, SAOEU, FJWOEU, Fast Jet Test Squadron. F2/3: No.229 OCU/65 Squadron. 5, 11, 23, 25, 29, 41, 43, 56, 111, F3 OEU, FJWOEU, Meteor Missile Test Flight, RAE. That all that I can remember.
  10. I like it a lot better than the old brown/sand scheme
  11. On the Fightercontrol site there is a image of a Typhoon FGR4 in what has been stated to be No.17 Squadron's disbandment scheme.
  12. I checked the Luckymodels website last night and found that Wolfpack do sell the seat as item on it's own.
  13. Looks like the RAAF may be getting a extra 12 F/A-18F and an additional 12 EA-18Gs if the US Goernment gives the go ahead on the purchase.
  14. The lastest I have heard from the Blue Angels is that their displays after the 1st April looks likely to be cancelled unless those on the "Hill" in Washington DC comes up with a buget.
  15. SORRY TO DISAPPOINT BUT IT'S MSG SORRY ABOUT THE UPPER CASE LETTERING - THE CAP LOCK BROKE ON THE KEY BOARD AND I'M WAITING FOR THE POSTMAN TO DELIVER THE NEW ONE.
  16. I'm not surprised has the F-5E will be out of service by then and the Swiss are not buying too many JAS-39NG's
  17. Some flew with two and others three - so you'll have to check for referance to the aircraft your building
  18. We also carried the 9M as they were released fromt the F3 guys who were changing to the ASRAAM
  19. As far as I know the remaining six pods ( one was lost in the Harrier crash in the Sandpit) were returned to the USA - unless they were kepted to upload onto the mounts of the three in mueums jets
  20. The Airfix kit is also the only one with both the 65 and 100% LERX where Hasegawa's has only the 65% version.
  21. Spoke to my test pilot friend and the VAAC Harrier did NOT carry a recce pod or any under wing or fuselage pylons - only the data pods. The VAAC Harrier programme now flys has the F-35B
  22. That's a nice idea with the "AJ-G" and a "C" type roundel on the nose of the jet
  23. I would love to have a print of this hanging under the one I purchase back in 1993 of "Operation Chastise"
