  1. There's no glazing for the sensor/laser and there's no mount or fairing on the Aviation Workshop version to fit the said unit to the Harrier. I have tried Shuan Hall's B-1B version (the nearest to the Harrier one) on a Harrier with the AMRAAMLINE TIALD mount and that works BUT their mount is currently out of produce although they are looking at bringing it back around Christmas (don't hold yer breath!).
  2. The two Harrier GR9 which has been decked out in the markings of Battle of Britain aircraft are: ZD327/08A - No.800 NAS. - SH-M. This is a Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1a, N3122, of No.64 Squadron which was flown by Sub Lieutenant Francis Dawson-Paul, the FAA first ace in WW2 with 7.5 "kills" between 1st July 1940 and 25th July 1940. He was shot down over the Channel and was picked up by a German E-boat and became a POW - sadly he died of his injuries on the 30th July 1940. ZD403/32 - No.1 (F) Squadron - JX-B. This is a Hawker Hurricane Mk.1, P3395, which served with the Squadron until November 1940 flown by Flight Lieutenant Arthur Cowes, when it was then transfered to No.55 OTU, the Hornet was painted on the Hurricane's cowling on both sides under the exhusts. The markings for both aircraft are only on the port side of the fin. BATTLE OF BRITAIN 70th ANNIVERSARY From the MANY to the Few.......THANK YOU
  3. I have noticed in the new No.41 ® Squadron Squadron Print at the Harrier GR9 - ZD437 - is armed with a ASRAAM on the BOL rail along with Brimstone and Paveway IV.
  4. Last October I was commissioned by the CO of the NSW to build a 1/48th Scale model of ZD406 and I got a load of information over the phone about the colours on the jet. The overall colour is MSG and mine is now sitting in pride of place in the history room in the Navy T-annex at RAF Cottesmore.
  5. I don't know how close is close but a couple of thousand of images on Tuesday doesn't say that close to release yet.
  6. I was at RAF Scampton today when I was informed that a team from Revell was crawling all over one of the Team's Hawks with a scale rule and camera. So it looks like that there may be a new 1/72nd scale Hawk being released at one point in the future.
  7. The Hawks for the RAFAT - The Red Arrows are has follows: a) They are T1/T1a and T1W versions. The only cockpit modification is the "lights" either side of the front console for the red, white and blue smoke. c) The only thing outside the Hawk is the three pipes at the rear of the fuselage and the smoke pod. d) E-mail me! Hope this helps.
  8. ZD404/33A or "Lucy" was the "bomber" of the pair which had the page three girls applied Therefore the weapon fit for ZD404/33A was a pair of ELGB's on the inboard pylons (the one's nearest to the the fuselage) with the drop tanks moving out to the centre wing pylons. No 540lbs bombs were carried by the LGB loaded aircraft due to weight and the No.4 pylon had the TIALD pod fitted. The order of the pylons from port to starboard are 1, 2, 1a, 3, 4, 5 (centre line), 6, 7, 9a, 8, 9. 1a and 9a are the sub pylons for the bol rails and sidewinders. The standard fit for the Harrier GR7A/9A just before the Tonkas took over was 1 & 6 - Paveway IV, 2 & 8 - CVR-7 pods, 1a & 9a - BOL rails, 3 & 7 - drop tanks, 6 - Sniper XR pod, 5 - DJRP, 7 - TERMA pod.
