My local area hobby store in Toronto has its front shelves overloaded with new Spitfire. I have checked the contents and although the surface details of their 90s kits wasnt bad, this Tamiya kit is very, very nice. As nice in surface detail and quality of mold as their Bf109G6.

New face of £50 - I've nominated Sir Frank Whittle
stalal replied to Radpoe Spitfire's topic in Aviation Chat
Although I m not British but Alan Turing comes to mind. For his code breaking took the war to the new direction. Also, has Sir Issac Newton been already represented in any of the denominations? What about James Watt, the scientist who improved steam engine concept into a practical design? He was Scottish. So I dont know if he will qualify. James Watt is covered in £20 note. https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/20-pound-note -
Beautiful weathering. Looking very realistic.

I dont like new HLJ website. They dont show shipping charges anymore but you have to check out to private warehouse. I would rather buy somewhere else.

Revell Tornado IDS question - want to build RAF GR.1 version
stalal replied to stalal's topic in Aircraft Modern
Is there any aftermarket cockpit available for a GR.1? -
In the third marking, the aircraft with QV serial seems have part of the wing in black. What could be the reason for it? https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10571228/60/1

The A wing might not be clipped at the wingtips but the wingtips can be fitted to a C wing. As you can see, the Mk. 1 related wing surfaces and parts are all on one sprue. This means Tamiya has planned other versions too but we cant predict if these versions will ever be released.

Camoflaged MiG-25RBF / ICM / 1:48

One of the best camouflage paintings I have seen. Very inspiring. -
Is it rumored that Kinetic is working on an F.1?

https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10571228 Tamiya should also provide a stand to model the kit in flight. No WW2 plane looks as elegant in flight than Spitfire. Can we speculate now (to our heart's desire!) to see a Spitfire Mk 1 in 1/32 scale followed by a Mk. V?

I wanted how the nose cone of F-104 was stored when removed from aircraft? Was there a support base for it? Or was it a hinging mechanism that let the technicians open the cone for access to radar. Any picture will greatly help.

Wow! I never thought I could get this much detail for this jet. Thank you so much for such meticulous research. However it leaves me confused. I have this Hasegawa F-86F-40 in my stash and same decal sheet you mentioned. Now what will I need to do to make the model kit accurately resembling Alam's war time jet?

Great build and very impressive. Is this Rafale kit as good as Revell's other Rafale jets? Does this kit has any improvements over the prototype version Revell has in their previous Rafale kits?

I had built a Kinetic Mirage 2000D and then Revell Eurofighter in the last two years. Those two kits were a pain to build. So much fit issues, so many corrections. They were exhausting to build. Then I built a Tamiya P-47M this spring and it was such an awesome kit. Amazing fit, great engineering and a pleasure to build. The point I m trying to make is unlike other manufacturers Tamiya's standards from kit to kit dont change. You get the same quality be it in their brand new F-14 or a kit released in 2005.

In terms of capability and protection. Performance. I have heard T-90 is an upgraded T-72. The T-72 tank performed miserably in Gulf war. Wanted to know what categories of tanks T-80 and T-90 are and how much improved these tanks are in their newest version.

What are the major differences between T-80 and T-90 tanks?

New Tamiya 1/48 Grumman F-14 (A, Late A, D) Tomcat

Looks like a super duper kit. The one to look forward to. -
This looks like a very nice kit. Meng has set a good benchmark in quality. This kit reminds me of Tamiya's FAMO kit with trailer. Its a fabulous kit and did not think its quality will be matched by any other. Meng's kit looks close to that quality. http://www.kitreview.com/reviews/famoandsdah116reviewbg_1.htm

Which Mirage F.1 kits in 1/48 are best in quality of detail and ease of build? Wanted to know from members who have built Mirage.

While taking a break from another project, I just finished a Tamiya P-47M. What a beautiful kit and a pleasure to build. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Count me in as I m planning to build P-47D in NMF.
