  1. Agreed. This was not an issue with one or two kits. Every kit had omissions. Decals not in correct color. Wrong markings. Parts missing. Not correct shape of certain part. Instruction steps missing. You name it, they had it. I have just two of their Su-17/22 kits in stash. I have not heard more criticism of the kits from one manufacturer for all the things we know of in our modeling world that could go wrong, and more. The surface detail is not bad though but just bad execution and lazy production.
  2. Does anyone have this Cutting Edge set lying around that I can use? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/cutting-edge-modelworks-cec48284-f-104-canopy-demisters-and-open-drogue-chute-door--202034
  3. I need some good reference pictures of the cockpit frame where there is some kind of pipe going around the inside of the cockpit frame. This is where this build is stuck currently. Is it a pipe for pressurizing the cockpit or is it air conditioning system? Also, is there any after market that makes that part?
  4. I have never been part of group build. I wanted to build M M Alam's F-86 Sabre which shot down 9 IAF jets in one sortie. I have the markings but they are very old. Lets see if I can build it. https://www.badassoftheweek.com/m-m-alam
  5. Yes. Sure. But there is so little information available for the equipment they use. For example, Pakistan is the biggest operator of Mirages and there are so many modifications in each of the models. Kinetic kit is a good start but we dont know what modifications we will need to do. Same for Trumpeter F-6. Pakistan's F-6 has MB seat and was able to carry US ordnance. But the information about cockpit is nowhere to be seen.
  6. https://www.themodellingnews.com/2021/04/preview-minibase-add-more-firepower-to.html#more Su-33 with Moskit anti-ship missile. New Minibase kit.
  7. Very interesting thread. Thanks for sharing. Pictures I have never seen before.
  8. Yeah but not everyone has a Facebook account. I hope we see more subjects from them with same level of detail but not taking 4/5 years to develop them.
  9. So whats the difference between Su-33 and Su-27K? Wasn't Su-33 initially called Su-27K?
  10. It could just be an honest review of what he found in the box as a modeler/retailer.
  11. Its an unbelievable kit. To your point about experimenting with techniques and ideas, I m doing this too in my current builds with focus on building this kit with detail and focus it deserves.
  12. Since its a Kitty Hawk, can someone please mention the lazy mistakes, the omissions in this kit?
  13. Is there a Mirage IIIB conversion available anywhere? https://www.airliners.net/photo/France-Air-Force/Dassault-Mirage-IIIB/2738599 Thanks
  14. Wonder if this one will work with some chopping and sanding. https://www.aires.cz/en/product/russian-pilot-with-ks-4-ejection-seat-for-su-7-9-11-15-17/0-2100/
  15. The instructions show instrument panel with SVP equipment only on the page where bort 68 camo pattern is shown. So you are right, its the first one. I got mine today and its a no compromise kit. It has so many tiny parts that I m wondering how will I remove them from the sprues. There is no detail, big or small, thats not razor sharp. I have not yet seen a kit which is so detailed out of the box. The only criticism is that the booklet seems to be printed on very cheap paper.
  16. I might wait for their probable next release which will include weapons in addition to missiles. This one is a MiG CAP version. It will only have missiles. I said probable because its Tamiya. They may or may not even issue next version. Nonetheless, I m still looking forward to this release.
