  1. Is Eduard's version of GBU-24 the right one for British Harrier? https://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/648095.pdf
  2. Has anyone used a Flightpath TIALD pod in 1/48? Is it just the pod in the set or it also comes with pylon compatible with Harrier Gr.7? Also why TIALD pods look so barren. No markings. No stencils.
  3. Are there any Operation Herrick decals available in 1/48 for Harriers?
  4. Which Harriers carried TERMA pod then? I understand Sniper couldn't be in Operation Telic. Could pods be carried on the same plane in combination?
  5. From observing the kit, it looks like both British and American Harriers are the same. However, looking at the pictures, the American Harriers look heavier and 'obese'. Are there any structural differences between British and American Harrier or its just an illusion?
  6. Which two markings in Hasegawa kit had 65% LERX?
  7. Is it possible that time of Operation Telic, any of these Harriers covered in Hasegawa sheet, had a 65% LERX which were retrofitted with 100% LERX http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10061665t2/60/2/1 By what is stated in the link below and I quote here. at least two of the supplied markingsi n hasegawa box can be built with 65% LERX. http://kits.kitreview.com/harriergr7reviewdw_1.htm GR Mk.7s can be seen either with the original 65% (or 70%, depending on the reference), or larger 100% Leading Edge Root Extension (LERX).Single seat RAF second-generation Harriers were built in two forms, the ZDxxx numbered GR Mk. 5/5A, and the ZGxxx numbered GR Mk. 7. All of the Mk. 5/5As, and the first few Mk. 7s were built with the 65% LERX. GR Mk.7s numbered ZG506 and later came from the factory with the 100% LERX. Confusing the situation is that many GR Mk 5/5As were converted to GR Mk. 7s, but retained the 65% LERX after upgrading. The 100% LERX is to be eventually fitted to all of the GR Mk 7s, but this is a drawn out process and a photograph is the only way to be sure which LERX an aircraft with a serial number in the ZD range, or lower than ZG506, is fitted with. v
  8. Where do I find BL755 or CRV-7 rockets? Does anyone make them?
  9. What are the differences between American Paveway II and British Paveway II? In every weapons option or weapons set, the American version, GBU-12, is commonly available. I wanted to ask if I m building an Operation Telic Harrier, will my model be accurate if I attach the GBU-12 to Gr.7? These bombs are included in Hasegawa weapons set.
  10. Does anyone know if there is a decal sheet in 1/48 for this gorgeous looking and strikingly different Harrier? Photographs deleted - Link
  11. The color I would suggest is Gunze H318 Radome. This to my eye looks a close match. Also, Eduard's new Gr. 7 recommends this color. http://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/1166.pdf
  12. I had dipped my canopy in Future wax that was old. After drying, Future wax has dried with undulating and wavy patterns. How do I remove the dried wax from the clear canopy part?
  13. As the cabin area is complete, its time to put together the fuselage halves. The fit isnt inspiring and needs a lot of patience and some filler to properly fuse the two parts together. At the same time, I have also started working on smaller exterior details like sliding door rubber stopper and its corresponding restrainer. Sliding door handle and lock and the diagonal assist handles inside frame of the door Eduard provides painted seat belts in set. They look toyish to begin with and once bent, the paint comes off in strips and flakes. So I removed all the pre-paint and colored the belts in NATO black with the sizing buckles painted in aluminum and then clear blue to give the impression of metallic blue. The seats in Eduard set add a nice detail but are a tight fit in the cockpit. The photo etch dashboard front is a nice detail in the kit set. So I decided to use it but added clear glass using Micro Kristal Klear, from the back to make them realistic. I will use the kit provided decal as the representation of dials. I have also decided to add the window framing from inside the cockpit. This is quite an obvious detail to ignore!
  14. With Typhoon being a popular kit, does any one know if a single seat version will be re-issued by Revell?
  15. Download the instruction sheet from revell.de website. The sheet there has correct decal numbers. Also, it would be better to use TwoBobs decals for RAF Typhoon. They have correct color and their stencil details is more subtle than stark in the kit sheet. I m almost done with my single seater and will be posting pictures soon
  16. Hendie you will see some Hendie inspired things in build.
  17. Began working on the cockpit details as well The detail on the underside of the nose also needs some work. The exhaust below are cast in the mould and there's very little detail. I removed the cast detail and replaced it with plastic u-shaped channel. I plan to show the rear strut in turned position so I have removed the lower end of the strut.
  18. Back to Wessex build after a long time. Got caught up in home and family stuff. Also was taking some time off from Wessex and building another kit which is almost complete now. The detail on top of the tail on real Wessex looks sharp and see through but on the kit the detail is soft and scanty. To resolve this, I removed the whole section around tail and replaced it with plastic card. Since I m using Eduard photo etch set, I have slightly altered the detail to accommodate the photo etch part.
  19. Begemot's decals for AMK MiG-31, if someone did not know yet http://www.begemotdecals.ru/doc/48-040%20MiG-31BM.pdf
  20. AMK kits look a class above. I hope they can keep their standards high and not compromise on quality in order to produce more kits. I have 5 or 6 un-built kits in my stash. Looking at AMK MiG-31, I feel like buying one. Its a fabulous kit and reviews vouch for it. However, the speed at which I build kits, it will take me 6 to 7 years to build all those kits I have not started.
  21. Does anyone know where can I find correct decals for ASRAAM? I m building a 1/48 RAF Typhoon and am I finding out some decals in Revell kit are inaccurate.
  22. Hendie, looking at the supremely superb, madly intense, persistently brilliant build, I feel you are not a commoner like me. You are some alien from outer world!
  23. The news is from 2013 so does it mean that in 2015 and beyond, it should be able to carry Storm Shadow?
  24. I do see Typhoon carrying Storm Shadow missiles in the picture below. https://twitter.com/Eurofighter_1/status/664435272076120064 Can RAF Typhoons carry Storm Shadow or is just a static display?
