  1. The Defiant might have been flawed but your rendering of the kit is flawless!
  2. We should start a thread for aircraft we never particularly fancied and now think look the business. The meteor's one for me. And this Meteor is simply superb!
  3. You need to get that on a stand at Telford next year!
  4. One of the most striking schemes I've seen on any aircraft. Full stop!
  5. Superb model. And it made me wonder how many gunners ever made it out of that turret in a hurry!
  6. It's just dawning on me that most modellers seem to make their kits - certainly AFVs - and then paint them. Is this the case? If so, I can finally get round to making some of the models in my stash. It's the painting that's been putting me off actually putting them together.
  7. There's some fantastic weathering on these threads, so much so that it's difficult to believe you're looking at something made of plastic rather than metal. I just wonder sometimes whether the wear down to the metal accurately represents the kind of wear you would see on an actual vehicle. What I mean is that it can look a bit like the kind of wear you'd see on a Dinky car rather than something full size. Does that make sense? It's hugely impressive but somehow doesn't look quite right. Not that I'm pretending I would be remotely capable of producing the correct effect myself!
  8. I have had a Tamiya 1/32 Mk IX sitting on a shelf for 3 years now, intimidated by the prospect of how I was ever going to do the kit justice. Now, looking particularly at the mock-ups model manufacturers are showing of their proposed new kits (they look somehow all the more impressive for not being painted) I am thinking perhaps I should just build it, without painting it and let it be a testament to the quality of Tamiya's model engineering. Would I regret it? Tom
  9. Looking at it again I see it's a French version rather than the post-war version Tamiya provide for in the kit. Still wonderful though!
  10. Superb! And the funny thing is I was looking at the kit box (must get round to making it) only this morning and wondering if anyone had ever made it up in the French version!
