  1. Nice update Bill, which markings will you be using? Cheers...
  2. Thanks for looking in chaps , Hi Matt, I tend not to preshade these days but had some of the dark blue left in the paintcup after doing the canopy frame so thought I'd give it ago, some may peek through at the end. Thanks Neil, XF-18 medium blue and a drop or two of X-14 sky blue not the XF-8 I lied about last night . Not sure how accurate my mix is but it seems to match the kit decals quite well. Hope to make a start on spraying the underside tonight so will update asap. Cheers...
  3. Hi everyone, thanks for being patient. I have some more progress to show you, as I said this goes together super speedy so I now have the major bits all together. I've drilled out the exhausts. Gun sight was 'enhanced'. Canopy was masked with tamiya tape using a new blade, we'll see how that worked at the end. Radiator all painted up ready to attach. This was the only trouble spot with fitting, I glued some plastic card in the gap where the lower wing section meets the fuselage, after sanding and a dab of paint I could still see a few seams so I 'did em' with a little super glue and then re-scribed the lines. Ready for painting. Here's that trouble spot. Sorry Jonners as you can see I've chosen the box top scheme but I have decided to spray a few of the markings, I know that a 1mm wide 14cm long decal wasn't ever going to have a happy ending in my clumsy mits . Red down for the fuselage stripe and white on the rudder, the dark stuff is just muckin abart... Here we have the red masked off, this will stay on until all the scheme is complete, also the rudder has been painted in a white then red then blue order. I wasnt very happy with the blue, I'd used Tamiya XF-18 medium blue with a smidge of RLM 65 to try and get the blue correct but it hadnt really worked. I redid the blue using the XF-18 but adding a touch of XF-8 flat blue this time, I'm happier with this. Ready for fun with french colours (I've masked the rudder now) Thanks for looking gents and ladies, all comments are welcome. Cheers...
  4. Very nice Colin, well worth the effort you put in. Cheers...
  5. Excellent work so far, a pleasure to see. Cheers...
  6. Thanks for looking in, I did think the harness may go through the back pad but I was more inclined to add a bit of visual interest rather than look for accuracy on this occasion, I have repainted the top of the column. I'll try and snap a few progress pictures Matt, I've been a bit busy with stuff but have managed to keep this ticking over and almost at paint time. Cheers...
  7. Ha! Sounds like a plan but I think you have me mixed up with someone with far more talent! Thanks for the videos and link Olivier they really brought a smile to my face. I'll contact you if I need any help/guidance on the scheme etc.Cheers...
  8. Well that came out rather nicely didn't it :-), Top job Stu, congratulations on a cracking effort and a great finish. Cheers...
  9. Congratulations on a great build, I like it very much. Cheers...
  10. Peter my chin hurts from smacking the floor every time I tune into one of your updates . Brilliant work, I'll almost be sorry when it's finished and all over. Cheers....
  11. Thanks chaps for the extremely encouraging remarks, this is one of those great kits that goes together fast, I buttoned up the fuselage tonight, only started on Monday, my heads in a spin . Oh now you've put the pressure on Jonners, was thinking probably the one on the box lid with the red stripe but Le Gloans could get a look in if I'm feeling brave and in the mood for Olympic masking. Cheers...
  12. Thanks chaps, I think the blue background is making the interior appear a bit grey so I've snapped a few against a white back drop. I think the blue is a bit more apparent now. Cheers...
  13. Hello everyone, Thought I'd post up some pictures of my latest build. Rather fancied something French as I always think they look pretty cool, also wanted to add a bit of extra detail without splashing out on any after market goodies. First up was the seat, I drilled and then using the tip of a sharp blade removed the plastic from the top corners. Not wanting to use any after market meant me having to rustle up some seat harness myself, I had some old GWH buckles to hand and with the aid of some Tamiya tape and some punched plastic discs I came up with this, maybe not terribly accurate but I'm happy, also added some extra detail to the seat frame. Oops, just posted before I was ready Anyway, a little wiring and some other bits and pieces. I sprayed the interior using Gunze midnight blue and added some highlights with some blue/grey left over from my Corsair. Also added were some Airscale placards and a small leather case I made using some 'magic Sculp' I held my breath and chopped off the solid lump of clear plastic that represents the gun sight and tried replacing it with some stretched sprue, when dry I sanded it square, still needs some extra work. The IP was kitted out with some Airscale decals (pretty random so don't look closely), I've since applied some crystal clear to the dials and turned it upside down hoping for a small amount of 'dome'. Excuse the fluff... That's it for now, please feel free to comment and many thanks for looking. Cheers....

  23. Tony, thanks for your advice, I've had a little search about and come up with Gunze H314 as a match for the RAF sky blue, anyone able to confirm that? (off topic I got your new book yesterday Tony, it's proving very enjoyable, congratulations and I hope it sells well) Cheers...
