Hi all another of my vulcans this time one that never existed a supposed b1 in white with a straight wing had the orignal straight wing not caused the buffeting problems at high speed, numbered xh507 on purpose, as i think b1 only went up to 506. i intend to try modify a lindberg to have narrow intakes and kinked phase 1 wing i dont think it looks that bad like this.. just a fun quick build. thanks forr looking rob -
Hi all thought id share photos of another of my many models of vulcans. this time its an interpretation of a straight wing b1 xa890 in silver i still need to do some more to it but shes looking ok. to my eyes anyways.

hi there well actuallty in some ways alot and others not, i had moved out once but still living with parents at 25 despite having 2 jobs and being a self employed guitar teacher cant afford to move out again yet. as for space i have 2 rooms both filled with my personality extensions model aircraft, model trains, guitars and amps, with a small space for me, but im not home often so it works out, 3 vulcans live on the top of a cuboard currently and as for the others well not sure yet. i intend to build stands for all of them that fit by sliding up the exausts so they can easily be taken off.thanks rob cheers dude -

nowt wrong with your models and your right about xh562 i used the airfix kit decals for this as i have no others nor do i know were to buy them, the decals used are well printed but not totaly centered and they look right in ceratin lights but come out to bright in the photo. were can i buy replacements. the other vulcans were done with ones from fantasy print shop and are excellent the ones on the camo 558 were pinched from the revel victor and look right to me, thanks for your post i love your models there amazing. -

hi there wow that was a lightning fast reply im just building a victor which ive had for 2 years but i remember the last attempt when i was a kid what a hellish kit. its looking good though. not sure what colours ill do it maybe hemp. and i cant wait for the valient. i wish there would be totaly new kits of all the v bombers with all variations im thinking of buying another airfix vulcan and making it look like the prototype. got the idea when i was choping the b1s wings and clamping them and glueing them in a vice and sanding to shape as i didnt have any wing edges i improvised. off to cosford tomoro so need to get to bed ill reply to any replys soon as i can. just bought a nimrod they are 15.99 on airfix site at the mo down from 44.99 bargain came next morning. awsome stuff. i also have a 1.32 tiger meet tornado to build but might sell the decals as i want to modify it to raf version. cheers rob thanks. off to cosford. -

Hi theres im new to this forum and wanted to get involved and share some photos of my models with you get feedback learn tips and make friends. ive recently got back into modeling after a break betwean being a child and getting older and coming to the conclusion making models is more fun than working. here are some photos of my vulcans. firstly a hacked up vulcan b1 this was a airfix vulcan b2 that was rescued from a disaster model from my childhood i didnt know about the flightpath kit but did have a b1 tail cone that was in my spares box since i was a kid didnt know were it came from. other that that i scratch built the intakes with plati card and filler and litterally hacked the wings into shape from drawings and photos to the best i could to represent the b1 with other mods to exaust and tail. elevons etc. there is 2 models of xh558 in white and camo. the camo one was bought by my gf for me to make shes awsome. there is a model of xl321 in white and xh562 some models if not all still need some more doing decaling detailing etc. thanks and enjoy hope you like them im not the best modeller i do it for fun. these are my first attempts since a child. over and out rob XH558 1992 VDF XH558 Original as built finish ful shade roundels B1 XA904 still need some more decals this was modified from b2 using only a tail cone from the flight path set as i understand it. but thats all i had so the wings were measured up from photos approximatly and by site i tried to achive the wing shape, this was then chopped up with pliers and then glued clamped and then sanded to shape. then the tail was extended with plasitcard and filler, tail fin ailerons and elevons etc were layered over with platic card. and the intakes were layerd with plasitcard and filler to make narrow intakes. its taken me 2 years to get it this far inbettwean work and is my first attempt at scratch building and is also my first vulcan that i made. so im very proud of it. love b1s. the exausts were simply filed smaller and filled with plastic tube and then that tube filled with another tube then glued and filled and filed and angles to give a close to original apperance. i dont think many people realise how very difffernt original vulcans are. be nice if airfix would redo the kit with b1 parts. next is my take on XL321 still need to do the bomb i.e. paint it. this was my 2nd attempt at a vulcan this is xh562 it is actually my newest one and was built for 2 reasons 1 i needed some more decals to finish xh558 and wanted the new decal sheet that are better printed and 2 and excuse to build another vulcan. now i havent got another vulcan to build im thinking of buying another to modify to a protoype and then maybe another to do a silver b1 and maybe a b1.a or another white b1. i love the airfix vulcan kit i love building them and whilst ive only had 1 which didnt fit well i find they fit together well with patience the only trouble is the intakes. thanks to anyone reading this rattle from me. off to finish my javelin.
