Unfortunately not. The turrets are different. You'd need to get the 1a boxing or be prepared to do a lot of work. If you look at the instructions you'll see turrets parts for the 1 are sprue F1, for the 1a sprue F2. F2 is twice the size of F1. Great kit though whichever release you choose.

So are we just supposed to say oh that's great and move on? Can't people express a negative opinion about something? I thought some manufacturers actually looked at these pages and some even take note of the feedback, good and bad. I personally like the subject, but there are ships I'd sooner see kitted, especially some that really existed!

They do have the same orientation on the real aircraft and as far as I can see they do on the images above.

I couldn't see anything that said brand new tooling other than the top and bottom hatches. Do you have a link to the source please? Thanks -
DM Model Kit - Ford Sierra 4x4 (Mobil & Q8) 1/24
Richard123 replied to luis pacheco's topic in The Rumourmonger
So it's a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth I assume? -
I agree, unless they're closing up shop they're bound to be releasing a new kit sometime. I really don't like the "we're going to release something" announcements unless they at least tell you when they're going to tell you what it is. Otherwise it's a bit like them telling you they're still in the office doing stuff.

A new 1/12 formula one car would be nice.

1/48 - Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor by I Love Kit - released
Richard123 replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
The error is in the numbers. Actual aircraft is 44' 6" in span which equates to 282.6mm at 1/48, length is 62' 1" - 394.2mm. I Love Kit quote 283.6 x 328.9. They're close on span but well off on length. From SleeperService's image the kit looks good proportionally so they must be off on at least one of their numbers. I don't know how SleeperService scaled the photo but if the kit is only 328.9mm long it's closer to 1/58 scale and I think that would have been noticeable. But I agree without knowing the span of the kit I don't know if it's wrong, but the numbers definitely are. -
1/48 - Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor by I Love Kit - released
Richard123 replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Looks like they got their numbers wrong, if you check SleeperService's excellent comparion with a photo in a previous post the kit seems pretty good lengthwise. I just wish they wouldn't do the raised areas all over the aircraft for the stealth features. I wonder, if they do a Spitfire will the green areas on the camouflage be raised to show us where to paint that colour? -
People who can't afford it can't buy it! But they may still want it. The point being made, I believe, is the eye watering price increase from Airfix, not necessarily the cost. It's also the inconsistency, how can the 1/24 Spitfire be significantly cheaper than the Hellcat yet the Buccaneer is priced as it is?

Not at £73!

1/48 - Aérospatiale/Westland Gazelle by AMP - SA.341/HT.2 released
Richard123 replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I agree it looks like there's a missing "P" for the nose but there are 4 "P"s on the decal sheet. I think the ones numbered 18 go on the sides but I can't see where the ones numbered 17 go. Maybe one of these goes on the nose although there doesn't seem to be a call out on the instructions for any nose letter. -

I see what you're saying but I think a more appropriate comparison would be to the F3H Demon rather than the F4. Like so many British designs of the time though they weren't developed to their potential. I think Sea Vixen may have given the F4 a run for its money though if they'd spent some cash on it.

Just checked Wikipedia and it seems they use day, month, year in Ukraine so hopefully just a couple of months, not eleven.

I reckon Fairey Battle, today's clue says production finished before 1949 which is when the Battle was withdrawn from service.

I doubt it, I think they've put the wrong picture in catalogue. The image is definitely not a Type 26 and as the latest Belfast hasn't been launched yet I can't see them tooling for it yet. I think they'll just enlarge their 1/350. I'd missed this one in catalogue and am looking forward to it.
