cool - nice unusual subject and fine airbrush work there! -
awesome job!

Agree totally with both of these comments! I have the A470 but it DOES need to be fully dismantled and cleaned. It also got the point where i was having to do this too often so I got myself a H&S Evolution. The Aztek has been in it's (rather nice to be fair) wooden box ever since. Cant vouch for Iwatas but they are also very popular and look nice. Phil Flory did a nice comparison of an eclipse with his favoured Evo and Infinity: Also nice, is the Iwatas and H&S will accept the 'quick release' couplings which I have found very handy - Ive got the one that allows you to change the pressure at the handle without reaching for the compressor.

Greetings all. Going to attempt something out of the ordinary for me - Ive been doing so much military stuff I just fancied a change. I decided I want to do a Virgin Atlantic 747-400, in the 2010 livery - I rode "Mustang Sally" I believe when my wife and I went on honeymoon to Orlando, so thought that would be a great model to do! I dont know ANYTHING about civil stuff so this is going to be a fun build for me, Im not going for accuracy just something that will look nice on the shelf So here goes, popped off to TAHS the other weekend and pick up one of these: 1/144 Seemed a bit big for my gaff so I went for the 1/200. Kit seems nice, bummer about the raised panels, so they are coming off. Im going to build a lighting circuit for this also - would be cool to have it in flight and blinking away - any of you guys have some good references as to the light sequences and positions on a 747? more soon!

"What’s flying over your house?" ME! On my way back from Milan this week lol. I leave close to Heathrow, so when landing I always see my house

Thats a beautiful Eagle. I won one of these off Ebay not so long ago, so If I can make mine look like that I'd be real proud! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks! Well, I dont know yet, all the decent ones are still in the boxes Thanks! I got mine for Just over a tenner in the MZ sale. Get one! This is soon to be followed up with my 1/1000 Refit, fully lit of course! Thanks again guys! -
Hey all , Thought I'd share with you my recent Polar lights D7. Bit ragged round the edges, but It was a quick build really. On the whole I thought this was a pretty poor fitting kit, but plenty of super glue and sanding and It looks the part. Chucked a few lights in there too to spice it up a bit. The stand was a DKNY watch box I stole from my wife Its still a bit wonky on there, but Ill get to that at some point. Sorry about the pics, Had to take em with my phone! Enjoy! and one with the bench light off to show the lights are brighter in person !

fantastic! -
Theres a bunch of resin kits floating around, Khun's website is usually up to date on garage releases: http://www.modelermagic.com/?cat=127 Still though, these kinda kits fetch lofty prices, so 40 squid for a halcyon kit wouldnt be that bad!! I nearly paid that for a halcyon alien not so long ago.

I hope this spells the end of those awful side-opening boxes

Another stunning Job - your builds are always a treat ! You seem to produce such high quality at an alarming rate! Very jealous. Keep em coming!

See , that extra "I" is so easy to miss. I said "wtf is a trestile" But your trestle expertise is noted Ken:I think you nailed it - Tamiya thought factory workers propped the spit up on a pair of nice garden table sets
-
I had the revell boxing and the canopy was misshapen and way too wide for the 'pit. I contacted revell who said it was out of production and they had no kits left. I contacted amerang and said It came from the newer anniversary hasegawa boxing, and they sent me a new on for free!! naughty
-
hehe Sorry bout that ! I did consider not bothering as it tiny and my eyes are rubbish. I only noticed because I do all the fiddly stuff under a magnifying lamp. I did it in the end - but given all the other mistakes Ive made it was probably hardly worth it - but then again wtf is a trestile !!
-
Thought as much - I also thought I might have stumbled upon something really interesting there that might make modellers monocles pop out and say "Good grief! - Hes RIGHT!!"
-
Probably a well known thing amongst the spitfire modelling elite but I just noticed that the underside stencil decal says: "LOCATION FOR WING TIP STEADYING TRESTILE" shouldn't this be TRESTLE ? Might have to cut the extra 'I' out. Its annoying me now !
