  1. Airfix Facebook link Airfix post text: Albatros D.Va. What a beauty šŸ˜ Weā€™re back on location, can you figure out where? #Airfix are they responding to the bi plane posts? Or are they working on something with 2 wings?
  2. Just watching the latest Hornby show and as well as the Eduard Tempest there is a box of a MENG F35 next to one of the young designers, it of course maybe there as part of the Quick build research but could point to a new tool of the Navyā€™s new harrier?
  3. I know that IBG were in the process of bringing out their 1/35 Scammell kits when Thunder Models beat them to it for the Pioneer Tank Transporter. Agree that this is going to become more common with the increase of manufacturers
  4. Looks like a 3D printed or Test model with the solid glazing. It could be for the Quick build, but looks a little large for that. The solid glazing confirms itā€™s not someone elseā€™s kit. It could be a red herring of course.
  5. That wasnā€™t the image that I saw it was to the left of Paramjit and when I try and see it through the online app I canā€™t see it, will look again at the TV version. I did notice that a chair was positioned there later in the programme. I did see this image as well, but the one I saw was bigger, more detailed and in the usual Airfix grey plastic. A few years back, Simon Owen gave a lecture at UWE on how Airfix produce their kits and he said them that they produce a small scale version and a 1/144 scale Wellington was passed around I canā€™t recall how it was made, but 3D printed makes sense.
  6. With reference to the F35 ITAR issue, I am not so sure that it would be a problem. A lot of info and images are in the public domain, there would certainly be some parts that MoD would not want to appear on a kit ( most would be internal) which providing the kit maker ( in this case Airfix) does not include them or does not indicate what they are in the kit/instructions. I know Airfix produced the 1/48 Merlin with sensitive parts ( such as added armour) but MoD were not bothered, so maybe it will be the same with a F35 or another Such modern aircraft. And as this thread now has a 2nd topic my user name is because my name is Rich and as Tricky Dicky was already taken I added my office number which is 210 (shows that I am on here too often instead of working). cheers Rich
  7. Is there a Battle for scanning or drawings available?
  8. Jon Good point, but I thought the F35 in 1/48 would be a Flagship release as itā€™s in effect the new Harrier and our newest Fighter even if itā€™s a US design. Agree with your B29 and Tonka suggestions
  9. Just watched the latest New Hornby model world and after about 35 minutes there is a shot of the designer at his desk with a 1/48 F35 kit next to him, itā€™s next to a 1/72 mossie so I am sure itā€™s 1/48 and itā€™s not the quick build either. It may of course be from another make, but I would be certain we will see it in the 2022 kit release.
  10. On Facebook Airfix have stated that they are at Bournemouth Aviation Museum, showing that they are in the Vulcan nose section. So maybe they are looking at some of the exhibits such as Sepecat Jaguar GR1 Jet Provost Percival Provost Meteor NF14 Harvard Westland Wasp Westland Wessex BAE 125 there is a Vampire T11, Hunter F6 and a few odd ones, plus plenty of noses but donā€™t think they would be looking at those. Would have thought the Wasp/ Wessex would be seen elsewhere Wonder which one(s) they were looking at. Probably too late for 2022, unless itā€™s additional info
  11. I think Airfix are trying to determine if there is a market for them in small scale AFVs, by trying the same approach as 1/35 I.e selling other makes kits in their boxes, they were going to sell some IBG kits which didnā€™t materialise ( think it was announced at 2020 new items). Whether they try again next year who knows? There is clearly a market for them, so why not. Cant guess what they will produce in 1/72 or 1/48 ( other than variants of existing tools) I.e a different Mossie A 1/48 Harrier is a good shout, as is 1/72 P38 and B24, maybe a B29 Dont think they will go for anything big in 1/72 like a Beverley, Argosy etc canā€™t see that there would be a wide interest. With the Chippie, Tiger Moth, Gnat, they seem to have an interest in Trainers, maybe a 1/48 Jet Provost, Tucanno or an updated Hawk?? Only 2 months to go to find out whether we will be delighted or disappointed.
  12. Just had the latest Airfix Model World arrive, complete with Calendar no new tool giveaways, but the Shooting Star is shown, so that looks like itā€™s going to be re-released in 2022 as a vintage kit.
  13. A 1/48 Bucc would be a good move and Airfix do seem to up scale some of new tools, (Defiant, Gnat, Blenheim etc) so why not. I wonder if itā€™s a risk adverse approach put the cheapest version out first and see if it sells, then go for the larger version if it makes the right criteria So in that case I hope we will get a new 1/48 SeaKing
  14. Ratch Would you know which moulds are damaged? I have heard that the Sam Missile and 1/48 Buccaneer Tools are damaged, but not aware of any others. Thanks Rich
  15. I hope that they will still announce a new tool to coincide with Telford? They certainly have the capability for a live announcement over several platforms
  16. Forgot to include a 1/48 SeaKing and 1/48 F35B in my hope/wish list
  17. Would expect the usual set of variations on new tools i.e a different Mosquito, Sabre and Vampire I donā€™t think we will see a new 1/24 kit until 2023 ( based on 1 every 5 years) Given that Airfix seem to be replacing old tooled kits with new ones, how about a new B24/B26/Halifax?? In 1/72 Also given that they have produced a Vampire, how about a Venom in 1/48? And as Airfix seem to travel to Yeovilton regularly new tools in the shape of a Gannet and Scimitar ( either 72/48) I too have seen the Facebook image of a meteor in Silver/red ( looks like 2022 calendar shot) but I think itā€™s a F8 with the canopy open rather than a T7 ( although I wish it was a T7). Finally there was another Facebook post where Airfix are asking for suggestions of which vintage kits to reissue- the 1/24 Stuka is a popular response and makes sense to me. whatever gets made I hope they continue to improve and make one or two of us extremely happy we might get something issued at Telford
  18. The email also mentions: "We will be offering these kits in the time-limited offer of 110 EUR / 130 USD / 95GBP / 178 AUD / 165 CAD + 50% off the shipping cost. In order to take advantage of this offer, please submit your order to [email protected] no later than September 10, 2021. After that date, we will tally the orders and produce just enough kits to fill the orders." So Ā£95 plus half price postage - maybe a lot to fork out - but better than Ā£130 plus for their current kits at the big H.
  19. Trumpeter were supposed to be releasing a 1/32 Jaguar a few years back and if i recall correctly, the lead designer left them and it was cancelled. That may be why the 1/32 Jag Decals were issued. There is a thread here: Trumpeter 1/32 Jaguar GR.1 - Cold War - Britmodeller.com
  20. Hope they do a 1/32 Hurricane which isnā€™t multi media canā€™t believe we still only have the old Revell kit as the only injection moulded option
  21. https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/airfix-172-vulcan-b2/ Says Available on 14th June
  22. Thatā€™s a cracker, Chris, really impressed mate must build my one soon cheers Rich
  23. Latest Issue of AMW Not sure about getting it, but its definitely available digitally
  24. Its Getting close - A build review in Airfix Model World, Looks Fab
  25. Hope its a Hurricane (a good 1/32 Kit that is not multimedia is long overdue) If Tamiya have visited Wings Of Canada they have 2 to base their kit on.
