  1. having seen your builds in the past I am looking forward to watching this progress.... your s/b looks good - always looks better when painted (mind mine still looks rought even when painted up!!!!!)
  2. great work..... love the NMF - great example....
  3. fair point...... will continue to work with blu tac - maybe my sausages were too fat......
  4. now thw cockpits done I will clag the rest together in my usual haphazard (erm sorry scientific) way... lol... no I am trying to do things neatly on the Fuji to make otehr builds better, also looking at silver paint so i can give a good finish on my MiG 17
  5. Julien, all what happens if I paint dayglo orange over silver... I too have the Fuji T-1a and will need the orange banding..... silver will be humbrol 11 undercoated in black (and may be other colours to give a bit of variation)...... should I go, black, silver, white, orange or mask the orange areas and do them without the black/silver underneath? thanks
  6. I will put my name down, as to what I dont know... maybe a JCB (thats a mud-mover isnt it)...... joke.... maybe an Skyraider as i like them (my love of small, over-armed aircraft could do well here)
  7. missed your birthday but thios goes straight to me "to watch" list... treated myself to this kit after christmas so will watch ho wyou progress it... looks gorgeous in the box (perhaps I should leave it unbuilt, that way it wont get spoilt!!!!!)
  8. have looked at this kit in the past but not yet splashed out..... will watch this, maybe add to my birthday wants-list
  9. nooooo i need to get the Fuji at least done before this GB starts.......
  10. nice looking mossie.... another WWII Plane I built many many years ago that I might revisit.... 1/72 scale of course......
  11. just read this on another thread.... could you use copydex as a complete mask? i have not had a great success with blu-tac (I rush and that is a big issue i need to address) and wonder if i could paint the mask on then peel/rub off? any watch outs.....
  12. all very good.... mine is just an old office desk that gets covered in newspaper when I am modelling........ but looking round i see a few things I need to add (light being the main (and easy to rectify) one)
  13. managed to get some paint and dirt on it... dot filter for the muck (too much?) _MG_9875 by rob_william_worth, on Flickr _MG_9876 by rob_william_worth, on Flickr _MG_9878 by rob_william_worth, on Flickr _MG_9880 by rob_william_worth, on Flickr _MG_9881 by rob_william_worth, on Flickr think my macro lens is throwing up more than the naked eye can see..... anyway once it is buttoned up you wont see much of it anyway....
  14. good set of kits for the BoB film there.... will watch... .oh yes, if you fancy donating one of the Mitchells I can provide a good home ;-).....
  15. nice update Bex.... looking forward to more of the same.....
  16. cough cough splutter.... when are you exhibiting at the national portrait gallery (or Hendon or other RAF related museum)..... that is stunning
  17. have tried the blu-tac sausage but didnt seem to get such a neat finsih, may clean the paint of he dragonfly and start it again. I have a THUD in the stash I want to do later in the year and want to be able to handle the SEA scheme nicely......
  18. beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;-) for me... i like to see small aircraft heavily laden with ordanance - so either the Skyraider or the Dragonfly (perverse I know but there you have it)..... of a more conventional type, yes the Spitfire and Tornado, but also the Harrier.......
  19. still progressing well Oliver..... cant wait to see it painted.....
  20. progressing well, like the new canopy and especially the overhead IP.... what did you use to get the circular dials?
  21. I have only ever used the cloudy new formula Klear with no issues. I use it brushed on (1/2" household paint brush (soft bristles)), 2 layers, then decals (i use it also to set the decals) and then 1 coat on top of the decal (now using mixed with Tamiya Flat Base to apply a matt finish - not there yet but.....)
  22. you can add my name to the list.... but who knows what will be built......

    Matt Varnish Help

once mixed, how long can i keep tamiya flat base & klear... is it just a cease of shaking/mixing again before use? (PS Humbroll MattCote + thinner didnt seem to work, Tamiya + Klear seems to do the job)
  24. stunning work so far, and not just your modelling skill. The way you describe your build, the testing, issues found and solutions would be helpful to anyone building one of these kits (and that wont be me for cost & space reasons.... would love one tho)... will be calling in again to see how you progress....
  25. great selection.. like the helicopters (from a non-helicopter modeller) but the Dragonfly is my favourite - mainly cos I am building one too....
