  1. I agree, some come.with adjustable idler wheels.which makes sense,.but if they don't then you would hope they would get the tracks right..... It's more the issue of link and length.... Indi link if you have enough you can at least add an extra one....
  2. So going to build a jeep for the GB, using the Takom one from the Patton/Jeep combo. Will add a figure,a crate of wine and some other stowage to make it look like it is carrying something.....
  3. Yeo I can confirm planes are no longer my thing.... But it's slowly getting there, just a few small parts then it's time for painting
  4. Bit of surgery and the tracks are on.... Next up touch up some grey and a touch of mud on the tracks and it is done....
  5. Nice start. Built this kit a few years ago, tracks were a pain but the rest went together well
  6. thanks Roger... the tracks are about 3mm too short (the idler wheel(?) isn't adjustable so will have to work out how to minimize the gap - think gluing tracks to wheels then applying tension ... but feeling more confident with whitewash and slowly getting there with weathering...
  7. Wheels on, panel lines done, mud on.... Just the tracks to persuade in to place tomorrow and the it will be done.....
  8. NightShift is my go to - will try the other as well
  9. thanks... similar colours to what I thought to use - used retarder in the green which did make a difference, will do the same when I do the face an dthe brown on the hoster and hat
  10. No spray time the last few weeks but did get time to do some work on the figure.... White dry brushing and then thin coats of colour, am fairly happy with him actually, no doubt the face will ruin it....
  11. Now I remember why I am.not a big fan of aircraft, pesky seam lines..... But body all together, bit of extra nose weight added......
  12. did you get this one finished? tempted by it, sort of put off by the rubber band tracks in the kit but thinking what if the prototype the russians captured was put in to their service... 4BO, big red stairs and red russian slogan.... think it would look immense
  13. Very very nice. Am just building the same kit.... Can you remember if you added any weight to the nose?
  14. the key has the weight symbol but can't see it in the instructions - will add some... the PR nose IS longer yes BUT it has clear parts and the cameras in it so space is limited. I can get some right in the nose but the rest will have to go over the front wheel well.... just need to find my lead figures that I used to use for weights...
  15. Some quick progress... Nice little cockpit with panel decals.... And the engine intakes started in the wings..don't know if this needs nose weight, no mention in the instructions but I know othe builds do, so will leave the nose off for now....
  16. With washable white.... Next up will be some panel lines ....
  17. thanks. not built a plane for many years, and never tried natural metal, lets see how well I do, perhaps I will get another plane if I enjoy it
  18. Started whitewash work. Not a great deal of contrast between dunkelgelb and white (with a touch of buff) but I will increase that when I start with some washable white.... So far so good
  19. A lot of priming but it had gone black.... Going to be a while until I move on to OD
  20. So making a start. Primed the interior stuff ready for brush painting later in the week....
  21. Build done. Still not sure 9n figure but have added a support in the turret so he at least stands up now....
  22. Build done barring the commanders hatch.... Will do and leave it off while I decide where to place the commander.....
  23. Turret furniture started.... And fugue visible don't know if he will be in the turret or on the engine deck yet ...
  24. Bit of what-iffery with the decals ... Next up Matt varnish then the winter whitewash.... Might get that done this weekend
