No, you said it perfectly the first time. The upper wing slopes down, and the lower wing is basically flat; so YES it is upside down. There is always someone who tries to be a know it all on these forums... And "it should be easy to correct"? Are you kidding me?????? Just slice some plastic here, and add some there, and add some length to the gear legs, and... WHATEVER!

I don't recall another Revell diorama that involved WW1 subjects, but I too could be wrong. They had a Pacific War diorama with a carrier deck, a Wildcat and a Zero. MPC (US version of your Airfix) had some dioramas as well. One was called "Balloon Buster", I think, and had a Spad (I think) flying over a styrene base with a destroyed observation balloon molded into it.
