  1. My 2p. I love Arma's kits. Quick look at the shelve shows that I have already acquired 38 different boxings of their kits so I'm clearly a fanboy.

I'm buying my kits directly from them as I'm doing with Eduard models as I'm a Bunny Fighter Club member. The duel of P-51Ds is already won by Eduard in my opinion.

Unless, of course, Eduard makes some glaring mistakes. Can't rule it out but they can be forgiven much easier than Arma Hobby due to their much lower prices.

For BFC members price of the 1/72 newest kits are £9.72 for Profipack. £8.49 for Weekend and £4.80 for Overtrees.

Now, a few month back Eduard started selling bundles on their website ( so does Arma but theirs are more across whole range while Eduard's centered around main kit in the bundle)

Eduard's Bf-109G-5/6 dual pack +2x extra overtrees costs £25.17. So 4 kits ( but only 2 sets of masks and PE).

Arma's newest P-400 costs £17.84 after 5% off net. ( Selling to individuals in UK Arma charges you net price not gross).

Delivery costs are £18 for Eduard and £11.68+1.18( for using PayPal).

Of course no one is ordering only one model from overseas ( or across the Channel) so the cost spreads across the whole order.

  2. He-59s were used in September 1939 in campaign against Poland in recce and bombing missions. Polish minelayer ORP Gryf has been sunk ( after being damaged earlier) by bomb dropped from He-59B from 3./KuFlGr 506. After September Campaign He-59s were used to control shipping traffic on the Baltic ( in cooperation with Soviets).

In November and December 1939 He-59Bs were used to drop magnetic mines in Thames and Humber estuaries and Harwich and Great Yarmouth ports.

In April 1940 He-59(D?)s were used to transport soldiers of 159 Infantry Regiment to Bergen.

Unarmed B ( re-armed after incidents of being shot down  RAF) and C variants were used in SAR missions.

  3. Arma's newsletter 19/09/2023:

We are just finishing packing and shipping 1/48 scale Hurricane Mk IIc trop model kits. It was a long adventure, and from the reviews and your comments on the Internet, I see that the model hit the bull's eye.
We are getting questions about the 1/72 scale. In a moment I will announce plans for the future, both in 1/72 and 1/48, but first I want to discuss current affairs.

    Confusion with the assortment

1/72 scale model kits are starting to sell out. The old Expert Set and Model Kit series are going out of stock. There are no more Mustangs, except for the British version, very soon the same will happen with the F4F-4 Wildcat. These model kits will be reissued in new-style boxes, with masks and three marking versions in the coming months. Some of the schemes will be included in the Deluxe sets with 3D printed details, but I don't know when they will be released yet.
Some confusion has recently been caused by the appearance of our model kits on Amazon (Europe) at very low prices. The kits available from the warehouse of this platform came directly from us, but their price was incorrectly set by its system. Congratulations to everyone who managed to purchase them. Amazon paid the cost of its mistake, which will probably not be repeated.

    News and announcements

We are currently working on 1/48 scale Hurricane IIb and 1/72 scale P-51D/K. The release date of these kits depends on the work of the tooling workshop, for now, we do not know which kit will be released first.
In our online store, you can now pre-order 1/72 news: P-51B/C Mustang (new boxing) and Sea Hurricane Mk IIc (a new kit with well-known and popular plastic sprues and 3D-printed "naval" conversion set and interesting marking schemes). We have prepared attractive promotional bundles (just like with 1/48 Hurricanes).

Check pre-orders at Arma Hobby online store

In October, we will start pre-orders of the P-400 Airacobra and another boxing of the ‘razorback’ P-51 Mustang - both 1/72 scale. In November we will announce a completely new model kit, but for now, it's a secret! Get ready for a special month as in November we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Arma Hobby. We will also release 1/48 Hurricane Mk IIc in a special edition. The basic model kit 40004 Hurricane Mk IIc will return to the offer before the end of the year.

  4. Coincidentally today's discussion on modelforum.cz. Mr Riedel, boss of SH, responds to a question:

jenda58 writes:Good day. And how is Battle?
PS: FRROM pages don't work, is there any problem? Which would freeze in the case of the MB-210 and possibly another one.

Battle is doing great, it's summer, so he's taking a bath . The molds of large parts are in a galvanic bath.

I have no idea why the Frrom sites are not working. It is a company based in France. The only thing we have in common with her is that she orders models from us (and supplies us with champagne   ). But just because the site doesn't work, it doesn't mean the business doesn't work. And even if you did, you would buy the MB210 directly in the SH box.

  5. Latest newsletter from Arma:

The first Hurricane Mk IIc model in 1/48 scale was assembled from test shots. It caused a lot of enthusiasm at the Babaryba 2023 Warsaw Festival, where modellers could see it live at our stand.

We're on the final stretch to ship pre-ordered models. Two sprues are already in production, and the other two are undergoing minor final adjustments. Everything except the plastic parts is ready: decals, instructions, masks and boxes. 3D prints for pre-orders are waiting on the shelves. Orders will start shipping next week. The promotional pre-sale offer, in packages with free 3D prints, will end on Sunday, June 18. The first models will already reach the recipients when we close the promotion.

Thank you very much for your Hurricane pre-orders. We are preparing another box, in a tropical version, which we are planning to release during the Summer holidays.

Last weekend, Arma Hobby officially presented itself at the modelling show for the first time. We took part in the Babaryba Warsaw Modeling Festival. We showed the first assembled Hurricane Mk IIc model in 1/48 scale and a large 3D print of the next project in 1/72 scale - the P-51D Mustang. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and endless conversations with modellers. It was a great experience. We must meet there next year as well.

You mean this kit that you can buy in the standard boxing that came out in 2006, that according to Scaleaates came out a year before the limited edition club boxing?

Having another look at the web page, it does state that the article was originally published in Airfix Model World. If so, I will have a copy of it anyway I'm print as I am a subscriber to the magazine, and have been for about 10 years!

The date on the web article is 1sr sept 2022, so I'll look on the October 2022 issue which will have been published at the beginning of September! Just waiting for my Nov 22 issue to arrive which apparently has a test shot build article in about the 1/24 Spitfire!

I think it should be arriving today. Fingers crossed 🙂

  8. From Arma's blog:

The Arma Hobby model kit is the first new kit of this aircraft in wide production for over 20 years. In the box, you will find plastic parts of the model that allow you to build all combat versions of the aircraft from P-39D to P-39Q (including Airacobra Mk I and P-400). They will be available in various configurations in Arma Hobby’s offer in the following months. The kit includes painting masks for the canopy and wheels as well as metal balls to load the nose part (matching the appropriate sockets in the model).

  9. Vl. Sulc's today's response on Modelforum.cz regarding Eduard's plans:

mira1974 writes:Hello, may I ask, as a fan of everything Czech and Czechoslovakian, how many Zlín Z-37 /72 servus boys and Zlín Z-226 and 126 limiters were produced and sold. I am quite interested in how quickly our planes are sold. I just ask, can we look forward to more Czech and Czechoslovakian pieces? Besides the L-13 Blaník? For example, L-60 Brigadyr or L-200 Morava would be interesting, and I would welcome the whole Z-37 series for myself, but I'm afraid I'd probably be the only one. Thank you for your reply Mira

I won't give you an exact answer, I'm in Boston and I don't have the time or the mood to analyze sales statistics, but the general rule is that these civilian and, moreover, only locally attractive projects are significantly less interesting from an economic perspective than military projects focused on the main themes of world history. So projects like Spitfire or Mustang are many times more interesting than Czechoslovak sports aircraft projects. It is similar with them, as with the First World War planes. We also do them for reasons of technological development or training of new designers, with the fact that they also strengthen our position on the domestic market. At the moment, we do not need to start any other similar project, on the contrary, we need to do profitable projects like the Wildcat, P-51B or Bf 109K or the 72nd Bf 109 series. We are fully charged for this now and it will be our main topic for the next few years. I don't see another sports project in the next five years at least. But projects oriented to the domestic market will be there, only they will be mostly military aircraft. And we will complete the Trainer project by releasing other ready versions. This also includes the constructed Blanik.
