  1. Gents, This excellent stuff, especially the AVF Shop link, and it will work out alot cheaper getting it from the UK. Providing the tax man has not sent me a £1,500.00 tax bill in the post, when I get home I think an order will me made tonight. Chris.
  2. Thanks Rich, Certainly does help. There was an ad in AFV magazine, so I went looking and am seriously giving one a go, but as most kits are about $130 + import, it's an expensive box of Resin to be flying blind on. Chris.
  3. Has anyone out there made any of Paolo Parente's Dust Models. If so, what is your opinion ?. Chris.
  4. No problem Tony. I have a 25KG bag of Daek Grey, Black, Blue Grey & Terracotta on thier way, so will have to do some seiors diorama'ing now !.
  5. Just been advised that a 25KG bag costs £15.00 !. Now that would keep you going for a while. Chris.
  6. Sent you some in the post. Chris.
  7. Whilst cleaning out the gutters of my garage at the weekend, I came across a fine gravel which had not washed away, I thought that this material would be quite useful for rubble in diorama's. The gravel is very fine 'slate' chippings, which forms the textured surface of the flat roof felt covering. I work in the construction industry, so a after a quick call to my friendly roofing contractor, a 2lb bag of chippings landed on my desk. Sample photos below. You will find that manufactures of the roofing felt, would normally give roofing companied bags of this gravel 'free', to carry out any patch repairs or defects in the rolls. So a quick call around some roofing companies and a few quid later, you could have a relatively cheap and realistic material for using as rubble etc. Chris
  8. Can anyone advise, which is the most accurate of the three 1/32 scale versions available, and also is there any seated RAF pilots available ?. Best Regards. Chris.
  9. Thanks, didn't realise it was such a large range. Have started my collection, but was just wondering exactly what colours have been used. Chris.
  10. Hi Tony, What are the AV 'Game' colours you are using ?. Chris.
  11. What do you recommend for the wash ?. Stryker must be finished first, although I may start it off. Although focusing isn't helped by superb falcon builds and the like to distract the thought process !. Chris.
  12. 1/35 scale, HobbyFan Rangers. Sculpted wearing Crye Precission combat gear and Gen 1 Armour Chassis. Chris.
  13. Unfortunately I havn't been out in nearly a year, and a return is not looking likely anytime soon. Young family, and wife gone off on a change in career to be a midwife, hence my return to modelling. Chris.
  14. A quick update on the MultiCam Decals. After numerous test runs with different base colours I settled with the Vallejo Model Colour 'Stone Grey' as a base colour and using Revell's 'Decal Soft' with Vallejo Model Colour Matt Varnish i acheived the results shown next. Greens are a little too green, but will hopefully be able to correct this with a few washes. Again it is trial and error, but the decal does 'sink' into the detail, and keeps the shape of the clothing. Chris.
  15. There is a Stryker at 40%, although have been distarcted with figures of late. Start of last week of holidays, so stryker will get a good rattle and then onto this one, although the Legend FRAG 5 conversion is also looking rather tasty !. Have been looking arround for a good diorama to put them on, bought two MiniArt sets, the MINI35535 Farm Entrance with Wall and MINI35540 North African House to act as a starting point, but am now looking at some sets made by monroe perdu. Chris.
  16. I have a complete Eduard OH-6 PE set, the round cross-hair aiming thingy for M-60's from The Eduard UH-60L PE set and the Dragon US vietnam, Academy OH-58d Kiowa warrior crew or Trumpeter Modern UH-47 crew (latter sets would probably be best, but neither exactly right up to date for US mil kit, but for Garda probably not far off the mark. Again good home needed. Can post on the 30th. Chris.
  17. Gents, thanks for the feedback, and link to previous review. As usual, far to much choice. Decisions, Decisions. Chris.
  18. That's Great, how far on are you with the build ?. I have a few other PE bits, that again are free to a good home. Only found them night before I went on holoday, can send on week after next. Chris.
  19. Hi Liam, Just checking to see if you got the parcel ?. Chris.
  20. Hi Ronnie, Many thanks for the advice. Will order today. Chris.
  21. It worked out at about £45, although no import was charged. I agree it's not cheap, especially at the base kit only cost me £10. Chris.
  22. Can anyone reccomend a good/effective scribing tool ?. Tools I have used in the past, tend to remove some of the plastic, (usually ise the evergreen range), but also tend to part the plastic, leaving raised sides. Regards, Chris.
  23. Just a quick in-box review of the Legend Productions 1/35 LF1212 Special Forces GMV Conversion set for the Tamiya Humvee/Academy 1350/1363 kits. I got the kit came from Lucky Model, and took about 5 days for delivery, using the 'free' mailing option. Parts came in a sturdy box, with bubble wrap for the resin parts. Parts include separate zip-seal bags for resin (approx 100 parts) and PE (approx 80 parts) and excellent colour instructions (although no instructions for the PE, Eduard type instructions would be a plus, but parts are all vet self-explanatory). Also included is some copper wire, 1.0mm thk. 60mm x 70mm clear acrylic sheet, 20mm x 40mm lead sheet and decal sheet) Resin parts are excellently moulded, with crisp well defined details and no air bubbles or defects of any other kind. PE parts are made of a thicker brass when compared to Eduard, but not as thick as Trumpeter, fold lines are clear and well defined also. Parts are clearly numbered. Overall assessment, this is a fantastic kit of the highest quality and comes highly recommended. (I also got their LF0120 US Vehicle Gunner and LF1040 Rivet Set, which are of equal quality and detail standard) The kit will sit on my to do list for a while, hopefully not too long. Pictures below. Chris.
  24. Now that would have been a sensible thing to do !. Forgot to do so. Heading away in morning, but took pictures on iPhone of instructions, so if you send me an email address or mobile nr I can send on now / tonight. Chris.
  25. Excellent David, original plan was to be in flight, but temptation could get the better of me !. Cheers, Chris.
