  1. Hi, I've just made a start on the Airfix Harrier GR9A kit and purchased the CMK resin cockpit set as I will have it displayed with the cockpit open. Most of the CMK parts are looking pretty detailed but I'm not quite sure the control stick is right. The Airfix one seems to me to be alot better, let me know what you think. Airfix is left CMK right
  2. For the seal I used Tamiya XF1 flat white with a touch of XF55 deck tan if I remember correctly.
  3. Haha, and thats one of the things Im not best pleased with Jonf45, but thanks for the comments. I did have an issue fitting those intakes and had to use a bit of correction fluid to fill the gaps, I wasnt aware the instructions were wrong until now, I thought it was just a dodgy fit. You live and learn.
  4. Hi all, just finished this and will mount it to something eventually. Quite a lot im not overly happy with, not the kit itself but my modelling skills but hey, im still learning. Oob build apart from the aftermaket pitot. All critisizm and feedback more than welcome. Airfix 1:72 BAE Hawk T.Mk.1A 151 Fighter Squadron RAF Chivenor, Devon, July 83
  5. Thanks Corsair, I shall take a look at the wax from Tamiya.
  6. Hi, this is my R2-D2 repaint, hope ypu enjoy it. I would of liked a more polished look but didnt want to ruin it by trying to polish it somehow. Ive given it about 5 or 6 coats of future. If anybody has any ideas on getting a polished look i'd like to hear.
  7. Thanks Andy, it's the second time I've used an airbrush. I'm happy with it. Thom, not a bad idea mate. I might just give it a go. I still have an at-st and 2 r2-d2's to build, one of them is going to be done as r2-q5 (black and bronze),so I'm going to be quite busy for a while.
  8. Hi hope I can remember how to upload the pics. Here are some of the bandai kits that I've built over the last few months, it's been about 5 years I think since I've done any kits. Most have some paint on them somewhere the vehicles are fully painted. Thanks.
  9. Hi All Can anyone please tell me how they get the white line around a canopy (eg like on the red arrows hawk). 1:72 scale if that makes any difference, Ive heard of the white decal method but dont have any that are white. Anyone out there have any other methods of doing this? Thanks in advance Dave.
  10. thanks guys, its not as good as i hoped, but with a little practice and guidance from the tips and tricks forum i hope to get beter.
  11. Wow, I put my f-14 up today, and this puts it to shame.fantastic bit of work
  12. Thanks Tango, i've never tryed any sort of weathering before and it was also my first try with an airbrush.
  13. Hi All, After going through this forum and reading the tips and trick you all use to make the amazing birds that i have seen here, I have decided to get back into something that i loved doing when i was a kid. This is the first kit i have made since i was a school boy, back then for me it wasn't the paint job, it was the getting it together part that was important.lol. anyway im looking forward to your comments (good or bad). Regards Dave Sorry for the bad pics, i dont have a decent camera. First post whooooo.. 1/72 F-14
