  1. Surely you can manage another 15 pages just on the canopy hinges alone?
  2. Fair point and I meant no offence. I am an automotive engineer by trade and have spent a lot of time learning about modern vehicle electrical systems with the manufacturers.
  3. If you are sitting comfortably, then I'll begin... A few years back, I'd just been given a new company car ands was sitting at a roundabout close to home when the car in front decided to reverse into me. We pulled to the side and the lady swore blind that I had driven into her but, to avoid conflict, I didn't argue with her. We exchanged details and I took a few pictures of the damage to both cars before driving home to ring the lease company. Later that evening, a Police traffic car pulled up outside the house. The officer said the woman had reported the incident as she claimed to have been injured. I said there was minimal damage as you would expect of a very low speed impact and that the driver had been fine when I talked to her. I showed the nice police officer the pictures of the damaged cars; the pictures showed no damage to hers and a hole the about 20mm in diameter in my bumper. He was a bit shocked and told me that when he had inspected her car, the boot floor was rippled and the tow bar was 250mm out of alignment. I then showed him the dashcam footage that clearly showed her reversing whilst I was stationary. He took copies and went off into the night. The nice police officer rang me a couple of days later to say the other driver had admitted reversing accidentally. She had taken taking the car home where her husband had reversed the car into a wall to increase the damage so they had a better claim. They had since been charged with numerous offences and no action was to be taken against me. And people ask why I think all cars should be fitted with dashcams...
  4. I think you may have been given duff information as one of our cars is an EV (Renault Zoe) and the other is a PHEV (Mazda CX-60) and I hard wired both from a piggy back fuse holder.
  5. Hi Mike I have Nextbase 522GWs with the additional rear camera hardwired in both our cars and have found the images to be fine and easily downloaded. Good enough to save me from prosecution when someone reversed into me on a roundabout and then claim I hit them! Hope that helps!
  6. If you do the Vulcan cockpit/nose, I promise not to hassle you to do the rest of it! Can’t say the same for the Lanc, though…
  7. Looks great but I think there are a few wheels missing?
  8. Reading this has given me the urge to watch ‘Stategic Air Command’ again… ‘Home Alone’ will have to wait!
  9. Sorry for delay in saying thanks for latest responses - I'd forgotten to turn on notifications for this thread.
  10. Have I missed something? I thought we had another 17 pages or so to go?
  11. @Fritag… don’t suppose you were up Lancaster way this evening, were you? I got overtaken on the M6S by a car with the number plate FR13TAG?!?
  12. Perhaps if you painted the HUD details onto the glass it would distract from the fact it isn't absolutely, 101% perfect?
  13. Just spent a pleasant few DAYS reading through this thread; not sure how I missed it for so long, to be honest. Any how, part from congratulating @Fritag on the best Hawks I have seen in model form, I thought I had better do my bit with a post to push it a bit closer to 200 pages...
  14. Thank you both for the speedy replies. I am not too worried about maintaining scale but found that 120mm were a good size for painting and display. I had looked at 54mm which whilst offering a much broader range were just a bit small for my painting ability! I’ll have a look at the companies you suggest and also some of the old Airfix 1/12 figures which I had forgotten all about!
  15. Hi all, I have just completed my first figure (a Miniart Roman Legionary) and have got the bug! However, I am struggling to find suppliers of 120mm figures from the periods of history that interest me most - the Wars of the Roses and the Napoleonic war. I would also be interested in some non- military figures if they existed. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance Brian
  16. I am currently trying my hand at figures (a 1/16 Roman Legionary) and have been hand brushing Valejo Model Air acrylics to good effect on the figure and no adverse affects on me. Might be worth a try?
  17. Have you had a look at IKEA? They gave multiple options at reasonable prices.
  18. Thanks Pete! This was actually a short, fairly local job - I’m often overseas for a week or two at a time - but I’ll still be glad to be home!
  19. Like you, I have a decent job that pays a good salary with the convenience of working from home. There is only one role that I could be promoted to but the present incumbent, my boss, is 10 years younger than me and not going anywhere. My role is well defined with little opportunity for change and is generally mind numbingly boring but I have accepted the situation. My advice would be to accept the situation, do your job to the best of your ability and look for spiritual fulfilment outside of work, i.e. go and glue something together!
