  2. Yes, I opened the box to find a Spit sprue in there. Can't write to the spares dept I suppose? I have an Airfix 190 I can do instead. My intentions were to do a captured bird but my brother is in a Manchester hospital so I don't know if I'll have the time now. We'll see.
  3. Ok. Who's stolen my pictures? What have I done wrong?
  4. If this works I am going to enter a 1:72 Matchbox 190 as an out of the box build, and I'm considering leaving it bare! http://s1051.photobucket.com/albums/s425/R...t=DSCF01102.jpg Or not!!!! http://s1051.photobucket.com/albums/s425/R...t=DSCF01112.jpg No prizes to spot the next secret modification. Lol. http://s1051.photobucket.com/albums/s425/R...t=DSCF01122.jpg
  5. Came across an England Players box today. Had a look at it but the previous owner had built Owen and Gerrard. Left it alone but for £2 I was tempted for the paint pots. Asked if they had any more lurking about, for the old dear to disappear for ten minutes looking. No such joy, but had the same response in the next three shops I went it too. I'm hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Yep, always worth a look! Missed out on a few kits over the years but my missus is thinking of working in a charity shop shortly so I could be nicely placed. Ha Ha HA!
  7. Slight change of tack here. My dear wifee asked the question of how long it would take to build all the kits in my stash. Now, if I didn't buy any more and I was focused enough to build one say every week, I conservatively estimate it would take me somewhere approaching 14-16 months to build everyone I possess. Looking at some of the previous pictures, is three score and ten years adequate? By the way, she goes quiet when I mention the pile of cross stitches taking up valuable storage space. "She's out there now.....Spending!" Lol.
  8. Just found this GB Time permitting I might like to enter an Airfix or Matchbox 190 in 1:72. Other than that we shall see as it will be my first entry.
  9. What luck! Just popped into one of my local charity shops to kill a little time, to spy at the back of the shop a Revell BAC Lghtning F6. Having thundered though the shop like Juggernaught (Marvel Comic Bad Guy) I reached said item and clutched it as if it was a newborn child. For £1.50 needless to it has a new home and now proudly sits atop the "next to do" pile. Chuffed to bits, as the last kit I bought from a charity shop, an Airfix Eurofighter, turned out to be half a Meteor and half a Tank! Not happy that day!
  10. Lovely work!! I was going to build mine over Christmas until I discovered that one of the sprues is a Spitfire. . Ah well , a what if for the future. Oh, if any body has any spare wings for the Tempest....... Silly question Well done Waco
  11. Hello everyone, I am wondering if any kind souls have empty paint pots they could re-home as I am mixing my own colours and need storage vessels. Old starter kit of paint by number pots would be ideal as I'm using small amounts. I might be slow in answering, but thanks for any replies. Waco
  12. For me it's the 1st test flight. I can never quite get the hang of a graceful landing! Then we start all over again,
  13. Has anyone built the Revell SPAD X111 C1 with the Guynemer markings, to give me inspiration. My missus wants me to use the Capt Fry camo scheme but I'm not sure at the mo. Any pictures would be very helpful. Waco
  14. Thanks for your comments. I shall lookout for the Revell/Hasegawa offerings probably as the Hasegawa kits I've built have been quite good. I'm not bothered about an exact scale replica, just something that goes together without too much faffing and looks the part. Thanks for your time Waco
  15. I'm fancying having a go at a lightning. Can anyone suggest a good OOTB build in 1:72? What are the smaller 1:100 kits like? Cheers Waco
  16. Hello all! Having so time on my hands I can build one or two kits I have, but I don't want to spoil my efforts, which are infantile at best, by fogging up the clear parts with glue. Which glue/techniques are recommended to minimize any disasters? Cheers Waco java script:add_smilie("","smid_146")
  17. Hello to you all. I need some assistance please. I have recently bought some kits at a model fair including a Matchbox Tempest. On opening the packaging I found the wings and other items are missing. I have the fuselage and other items in a mustard yellow plastic. Can anyone please tell me what colours the wings are as I might be able to find them from the seller's spares box. Any images of unpainted builds or parts on sprues would be most welcome. Cheers.
  18. Hi, an interesting post. I'm new so please forgive my intrusion. Can anybody direct me to any images of an unbuild/unpainted Matchbox Tempest? I am trying to source some wings for a fusilage I have and if I can colour code my search it might help. Thanks to any reply.
