  1. Thanks for comments. Was good to get a win under the belt but don't think I'll get away doing it every weekend! Thanks again.
  2. I've been finding it hard to find time (due to work and study) and motivation (over-complicated dragon tanks) to sit and build something. Whilst rummaging through the stash I came across this Airfix Starter set and so set myself a 1 day limit, which turned into 2 due to furniture shopping and beer! Was happy to see no warping of parts, a problem I have with some of their new-tool kits (so far 2 typhoons, a Lancaster and FW-190) (Apologies for phone photos) Cockpit sorted with just a quick wash, not much will be seen when closed up. Bit of filling required around wings, otherwise good fit all round. Pilot figure ready for service. Coat of stone with some yellow added and randomly sprayed. First time using blu-tak for camo.... Finished spraying.. And Done. Went wheels up and I love that Airfix has been including parts in their kits to make this job that little bit easier. Comments, tips and so on welcomed Thanks for looking
  3. You could use the 'Linka' plaster cast system. Uses silicone moulds to create brick panels that can then be joined together. Can't remember if it's 1/72 or 1/76 scale.
  4. I've been looking around this forum for and while and finally got the nerve to post something up. I don't claim to be anything more than an amateurish, OOB modeller and I'll take enjoyment over accuracy anyday; but I'm not going to learn unless I get help. So... all comments and advice welcomed! This is the Tamiya Willys MB 1/4ton 4x4. I like this kit of the jeep due to the one piece body which simplifies building unlike the seperate sides and floor pan of the italera and heller offerings. I didn't do anything to the engine as I was closing hood. If leaving engine open the radiator top and battery are one moulding, which leaves the battery floating mid-air. Better cutting into seperate pieces and adding. On with pictures: Sprues, Body, primed assemblies. Vallejo air Olive Drab was used over halfords primer, lifecolor light mustard for the seats and tamiya olive drab for different shade. The Future home for the jeep Decals added over coat of Klear, then vallejo matt varnish. Tried a little light weathering, need to add something to the treads... suggestions of best method needed. Steering wheel will be added with figure, also need to weather wheel wells! Praise, constructive criticism and advice accepted. Thanks for looking Sempey
