  4. Bloody hell, thanks chaps! I am getting better at the weathering, but usually i really over do it. I know its all personal preferance, but I think that i stopped this one at the right time and its nice to know that some of you think the same. Cheers!!

    Gallery.

Revell 1:72 Hurricane MkIIb built as BE171/YB-B flown by Sgt J.F.Barrick of 17 sqn RAF based in Burma 1942. It was one of the few aircraft that came from North Africa and the dark earth was over painted green. It is shown later on than 1942 when it moved from air defence to ground attack duties. 10. Finished. Thanks to everyone who showed an interest and helped. its a bit wonky in a certain area but i enjoyed the build and am happy with the end result.
  11. Well i have started it, well the decal anyway. I started with the outline of the artwork and a black and white photo, both supplied by Matt. I started colouring it in really carefully on paint but after a size test, realised that you couldnt see any detail really. So i went more blocky and stylised with the colour so that you could see shodows at least. The text was too small for the smallest on 'paint' so i had to free hand it, she doesnt look very pretty but when reduced............. the one on the left is the size test and the one on the right is the nearly finished one

    P-40

ooooh battle damage, i am a sucker for it even though i am rubbish at it. Nice work so far
  13. nice faded paint job. cant wait to see it fixed and decaled
  14. Your hand painting skills are phenominal Erwin, this looks excellent.
  15. looking really nice Den, I take it that by the amount of work you had to put in that this is a stinker of a kit then? Top quality of the other models as well btw
  16. It all comes down to politics, and you know we are not allowed to mention that
  17. Really nice model Dave!!! Do you work fo AW by any chance as you have got all the antennas and little mods perfect. That loading system is designed to go up and down independantly so that the quite long vh101 doesnt bottom out on the ramp.
  18. I wouldnt know enough about it Graham, all I can do is go by what i find in books and on the net. And this one if you look at the pictures I am using, shows dark earth under the serial number where the green now is. As for the bombing, I was under the understanding that by 1943 the hurricane were past thier best as fighters and were used as ground attack more than anything else. I dont know if this particular aircraft carried bombs, but i wanted it to so i put them on. Call it artistic licence
  19. The trouble is Ed that that picture was pre delivery and Sepecat/Bae thought they were going to get paid at that time. Would it be possible for the Jag to carry Russian weapons?
  20. cheers chaps good thinking Den!!!
