  1. Thats strange, they are actually red, and on my computer they look red as well. are they pink to anyone else?
  2. As I havn't posted a model for a while on here, so I thought I should contribute a little instead of just looking. Kit manufacture: Revell Scale: 1/72 Type: Tornado GR1 Extras used: Decals are aftermarket Paints and colours used: Xtracrylix, Tamiya and Promodeller dark wash
  3. thanks for that. I found the light stone anyway, but the green i wanted to stick to the xtracrylix.
  4. I was hoping that one of you armour modellers can help me, as i dont usually make tanks or guns and things. I am making an AS90 for a change and am in the process of ordering the paint from hannants for it. As i tend to use xtracrylix, can someone tell me what XA number they use for both the green on modern/cold war british armour and also desert colour. Thanks in advance for any help, Wayne
  5. Superb Dave, love the detail painting. the red gaskets on the engine bring it to life.
  6. Crickey!!! Well done Jonners, not only have you found some very elegant fixes for this kit. You have also stopped me wasting £50 on a kit that, in my hands, would end up looking like the webbed feet toothless incestual love child between a GR4 and an F3. Great build!
  7. Bugger!!! I didnt look at the end date. Well at least the GB had the desired effect and got me building again. I would / could of had her finished on time but the turrets looked rubbish when painted as the join went over the top of the glass, not the glazing bars. I have ordered some replacement ones, so when they arive i will post the finished model on ready for inspection. Gary, the resin exhausts were my first attempt at resin casting, as they needed the flame damper. they didnt come out great, but good enough for me, and i learned alot doing it.
  8. Dave your a donkey, you have been looking at your own model with the sh*t tinted glasses again. That looks very good, and all the problems you have encountered have been the same for everyone who has ever tried to paint this colour scheme. Take the glasses off and be proud of a great model there mate.

What Ted said. But any aluminium shades will work well together. I have used aluminium and dark aluminium together to good effect.
  10. Well done Ethan, that model looks great. Are you going to take it to show and tell at school? What are you going to build next?
  11. Nice scratch building on the jet pipes. does it use the same engines as the Eagle?
  12. I have just seen the finished pics on the gallery. top job Paul.
  13. Great model. I love the weathering.
  14. Nice one, really cool model. What is it like to finish a model? I might find out soon.
  15. I have done a little more. The resin exhausts with the flame dampers are painted and attaches, The engines are on, and i couldnt resist puting 'Daring Diana' nose art on. I have also started painting the gun turrets so it wont be long now until it is finished. It needs the edge touching up but it worked. Its about the right size, the photos i have only has the pitot and the little window as reference to its actual size. I like the fact that its big as it is a tribute to the crew of Daring Diana. Exhausts fitted
  16. Bargain price. how is it going?
  17. excuse the rubbish pics, but just an update because the green has gone on. i am pleased with it one minute and feel the pre shading is overdone the next. I am going with it and hoping the flat coat will knock it back a bit.
  18. No, I need to do the creating of decals bit and paint all of the turrets. I have an Eh101 i want to bring along though for some idea on how to save a bit of it.
  19. Its not Tamiya standard, but its also not limited run depths. With a little care it would build into a reasonable kit, but it has been frustrating in places. As for the airbrush its a Revell Profi something or other. The Olive drab arrived today so I will be having a crack at it this weekend fingers crossed.
  20. I just tried Dr Pepper the very same way as Karl did the Coke, which also has phosphoric acid in it and it didnt touch it. Must be something else in it.
  21. This one, its olive drab on top, grey underside
