Yes, I find it mind boggling too, especially as I was raised on Airfix and Matchbox 1/76 AFVs. 😄 It does Stef. Thanks! Indeed. The Vespid Hetzer I built recently was similarly frustrating. In my perfect world Tamiya would shrink their AFVs down to 1/72! A decent Sauvignon Blanc is a vital component in my modelling tool box! 😄

The tracks are on after a major battle. Apart from the sheer 'fiddlyness' and the fact that each link/length had to be filed a bit to get it to fit to the next, on the left-hand side I didn't seat the sprocket properly and managed to stick the whole run too far outboard. I discovered my error only after the glue had begun to set. Getting it all off was a huge pain which also took out some of the wheels and track teeth. At that point I looked up at the large emergency hammer I have on the wall in its glass box and contemplated using it... 😡 However, I walked away, had a restorative glass of wine and came back to realise the damage wasn't so bad. I fixed the wheels, got the repaired track back on, and the missing teeth are largely invisible behind all those wheels. All is now calm in Tigerworld. 😇 You'll see I've also added the fuel tanks and fans in the engine bay, although they had to be altered so they fit under the hull top.

A new Lease of Life for a Tamiya Cromwell - Finished.

Nice work indeed. Those pots and pans hanging on the back remind me of a real photo from the NW Europe campaign. And the improved smoke dischargers look good too. -

I can recognise some of the symbols in that camo scheme but it needs an expert to fully interpret it. 😀 It looks great though, and I like the subtle weathering of the underside black. -
It's a Tiger thing... 😄

Today's question - could the Tiger have had any more wheels? 😄 I've left the sprockets loose because I know, from bitter experience, that it helps when joining the track links.

More small scale goodness.. I'd be tempted to do the snow tiger scheme! 🐅 🙂

Thanks chaps. Running gear next - always the most stress-inducing bit for me. Fortunately, of course, the Tiger has pretty hefty track links, even in this scale, so it should be ok...🙏 We shall see...

I've made a start. What you see here may look pretty basic but it's already involved 32 parts, one of which pinged off into near oblivion and involved a major carpet SAR mission before it was located! At that point I was thinking, why didn't I just stick to my Tamiya 1/35 comfort zone? 😬 Also, I'm not a fan of having to stick each torsion bar axle stub on separately as there's scope for misalignment. Hopefully I've got them straight enough. The hull bulkheads are incredibly detailed though, and the same goes for the turret interior.

Interesting. I never knew this kit existed! I agree that the choice of markings is a bit unimaginative.

That zimmerit looks spot on. Regular but slightly irregular - if you know what I mean! 😄

Very impressive model. Atmospheric photos too, and I love the 'just standing around' figures! -

Great result. I've got this one on the go at the moment and you're right, it's an absolute corker. -

Superb model of an impressive aircraft, though I've never understood why the nav was consigned to a dark, claustrophobic cave. -

Hi Ian, I also found that canopy to be a problem, and needed a fair bit of fettling to fit. Anyway, I've got a spare Rob Taurus vac-form canopy. PM your address and I'll send it off to you. Best wishes, Ian -
A stunning build, Nigel. Congratulations!

G&T New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Peroni Moretti Pretty mainstream, really. Trying to give it up..

There needs to be a sub-forum: 'What's your latest purchase after a late night bevvy or two'. Bet it doesn't include any sensible but boring paint, glues or masking tape. 😉

That's good news about the Miniart tracks, as I've just started the Stug III. I've also recently finished the Vespid Hetzer. I was dreading the tracks but they went on ok, although of course they're a wee bit fiddly given the scale.

C'mon, John! Surely at least one Tiger was captured and repainted SCC.15 or OD? 😀 Stef - superb model as per usual. Nicely done figures too.

Everything AND the kitchen sink in that photo! I'm looking forward to this one.
