  1. Sorry guys and gals, I've not been posting for quite some time, no excuse just not managed it. Time to show some willing: Here goes: I proposed to my (now) wife under the Red Arrows' Heart @ the 2006 BritishGP. Since; she has loved everything to do with the reds. So instead of buying her flowers for our 7 year engagement pressie I built her a model kit! Aren't I thoughtful! hehe Hopefully you can see the images. Anyway hope you like and enjoy. Not particularly accurate but close enough
  2. Yeah, I'd go with ground resonance, looking at the belly and ground. Must've been scary, well spotted by the pilot though. Similar to that opening scene in MacGyver where some ground resonance happened. Never noticed as a kid but very obvious nowadays
  3. Awesome work! Looks like P2 (hands on hips) is saying to P1 "You've just signed for this cab and the servicing platforms are still down! - Better get back in the Line Office and tear a strip!"
  4. Thanks chaps. Enjoying the smaller builds at the mo. I've just started working on another JP
  5. I've been forum lurking for a while, mainly due to cold weather and my man cave being exterial! But 2 builds so far this year are under my belt. Hope you like they're not my best as I make a better mess of 1:48 normally! haha I foiled the inside to mimic the sound proofing (now you can't see it! lol) a few extra areas of scratch building in the Main gearbox area and cockpit too Using "Steel Shot" as supplied by Paul (Little-Cars) I tried the technique suggested by Paul whereby I use a water/pva mix so the solution moves about easier. I would imagine that this way would work well for the more experienced modeller but for me was frustrating as I couldn't get it to set. Couple this with the fact I didn't experiment with the mix ratio. Being a CNC machinist (as my profession) I can usually come away from work with some broken Tungsten Carbide cutters that would fit reasonably well into the nose space of a 1:48 scale but last year I failed to make an Airfix Tucano sit flat. Paul came to the rescue with this steel shot. My method: PVA neat left to set for a short while, open the model up and allow to air dry. In my Gazelle I fashioned a bulkhead in line with the rear skid attachment point and... well the results speak for themselves!. Thanks greatly Paul!
  6. I have to break my recent forum lurking streak by adding that this build is extremely good viewing! I can't add anything constructive but permit me to say "Bloody hell, wow!" Lovely work
  7. A quiet year for me modelling, but enjoyable all the same.... Airfix Tucano SH-3 Sea King BM Hawk Group Build
  8. Stunning craftsmanship. As already alluded to it looks real!
  9. Sounds a good one I'd go for either a mk2 Golf, Golf VR6 or Audi Quattro
  10. Lucky so and so. I'd love to get hold of this kit. Nice progress too
  11. Absolutely lovely! Love the backseater trying to lean "up"
  12. Your blades are spinning the wrong way! made you look made you stare! hehe just kidding... Looking great!
  13. Sorry my faux pas Listing format was template and I didn't pay enough attention it was supposed to be a starting price of £25 - relisted now I don't intend using it and I offered first refusal to OP. I did pay about £50 for my set 2 years ago...
  14. Wow! I've just built a 1:72 Revell "AE@A" would it be that airframe's original serial number? nice shots

    Klear

Agreed, I've used it too. Don't let droplets settle on important parts of clear view sections otherwise it behaves itself
  16. Is this the set you mean? If so I could be persuaded to part with it If not please forgive me for my impetuous interruption!....
  17. Whilst helping our Foster Daughter with her first ever go at a hobby of any kind (She's building the Red Arrows Gnat starter kit) I thought I'd build along side with one of these. I've never been a fan of the clipped wing but my Mum made me a cross stitch MkIX clipped wing. So thought it only right I should do this one like it. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this build. My first go at disrupted pattern on such a small model. My first go at some weathering. My first go at mixing paints. My first go at Klear covering before decalling. I feel I'm getting better but I'll do a few more 1:72 and 1:48 before trying my Tamiya 1:32 MkIX! hehe Enjoy sorry pics aren't great...
