I don't know if I can live with them or not.

There are multiple reviews of our conversion kit on modelling sites some of which point out the multiple minor glitches in the Minicraft kit.

That said, a completely OOB build looks like Mariner more than anything else. If I were to change the minimum I would look at the rear fuselage, the props, the large cartoonish radome and, if you are building a boat not an amphibian, re-align the beaching gear so all the wheels are on the ground!

Litvyaks Yak-1 "white 02" probably originate from this image

The painting, by Sonny Schug, was informed by Litvyak's machanic, Katerina Polunina, who also debunked the painting of anything but the 02 bort number. It seems she did fly White 44 on some occasion but not regularly.

  3. All that interior detail is marvellous - enjoy it now because it will be invisible soon! 😀

I presume you have looked at the engines, cowlings, rear fuelage shape, radome etc as areas needing attention.

It looks like a great build so far. Are we still doing a Uruguayan one?

a second hand, half tube of 40 year old glue

which may have been a better purchase!

I am sure a good modeller will be able to turn those old Matchbox kits into something decent. Before there was anything else available I saw a couple made to a pretty high standard.

    their site doesn't load fully

The site is a bit overloaded, just like a DK Decals sheet, but you should be able to see everything except 72138 and 72141. For instance 72140 is 341st Bomb Group. Even on a fast connection, it takes a very long time to load up fully.

If you right click on one and choose Open image in new tab, you can see that one a bit quicker.

  6. They are all of excellent physical quaility as they are printed by Boa in Prague. They are typically very thin and require careful handling. The earliest ones need to be used with caution as far as reference goes. Often the actual decals are fine but the colour scheme id not quite right. As DK evolved and drew in more research contributors the accuracy improved markedly. In teeny-tiny script on the instructions is often a list of the people consuted about the markings - you can often judge for yourself about their credibility. @Ray_W is correct about variation in roundel and code colours, which is what you get when you use modern printing inks, but I suspect DK are closer than most. I have used them to replace Eduard, Hasegawa, Hobbyboss etc etc etc.  I would add a disclaimer - we have been involved in their research and are an outlet for them.

    Now in 2025

Not only thread resurrection from the past but time travel into the future 😀 well done!

Your P-47 sounds good. Post a picture in RFI when it is done.

  8. 419 Squadron

History - An Article XV squadron formed at RAF Mildenhall, England in 1941 as part of No. 3 Group, Bomber Command. The squadron moved to RAF Middleton St. George when it became a constituent of 6 Group, Bomber Command, and remained in England until 1945. The squadron operated Vickers Wellington, then Handley Page Halifax and finally Avro Lancaster bombers during this period. So it was part of the RAF. Strictly correct its title was 419 (Canadian) Sqn RAF. Edit - see @Scott Hemsley 's post below.

Current - As the 419th Tactical Fighter Squadron, in its latest incarnation it was responsible for advanced tactical fighter training for pilots of the RCAF and as part of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program using nine CT-155 Hawk trainers. So part of the RCAF.

You should edit the title to change RAAF to RCAF. 你應該編輯標題以將RAAF更改為RCAF。

    我希望這對你有意義
