  1. Tsk, tsk! 39 posts and no-one's mentioned the DHC-4 Caribou! Did a lot of work in Funnyland, did the 'Bou ...
  2. Yes, got that, but I've been a bit busy over the last couple of days. Email should follow some time later today.
  3. I'd do it as a Guinea one, but then I'm a bit biased ... As far as I can determine the GAT/AAT logos were a dark blue. I have a drawing somewhere of the Guinea Airways logo (the compass rose and clock face with the company name in an arrowhead) - pm me your email if you'd like a copy. And I don't know whether you have found this site: http://www.goodall.com.au/australian-aviation/anson-civil-1/?SD Geoff Goodall's site is a real treasure trove for anyone with even the slightest interest in Australian civil aviation.
  4. I'm sure they'd sell a few down here - the Beaufort did a lot of work for the RAAF during the Second Great Unpleasantness, and there's a great deal of interest in the restoration currently under way in Queensland.
  5. To be kind, it vaguely resembles a Sea Venom - from about 5 metres away, if you squint ...
  6. In my Hannant's "Hot News" this morning I found this: www.hannants.co.uk/product/DN5096 Is this the old disaster or a new mould?
  7. Monarch of all I survey - and you'd better believe it! I do imperious very well, don't I?
  8. You're right! I had to get my 111C out of the Warehouse of Doom to check - always causes traumas ...
  9. Well, ICM has done the early ones in 1:72 ... just not all that well. Hopefully they'll (a) up the scale to 1:48 and (b) make sure everything fits together properly! A Lufthansa 'C would be brilliant!
  10. There are several stretched Hummers around Sydney, apparently used as wedding cars and the like. At least one of them is painted a particularly lurid pink - not something to see the morning after a hard night out! Normal or stretched, they're a waste of fuel and road space.
  11. None that I know of. There was an article in Aircraft Illustrated for September 1970 that included a set of Granger drawings. He depicted 635 Sqn's ND673 (F2-V) which had no fancy markings other than Yellow PFF stripes on both sides of the fins, so you could make up a set of markings using kit roundels and various generic lettering decal sheets. Other mods included no spinners and both the nose and mid upper turrets deleted.
  12. Red Roo is your friend: www.redroomodels.com/red-roo-resin-172/red-roo-172-450-lb-depth-charges-british-pattern/
  13. What he said ... ^^^ What I've seen on the news doesn't look pretty. Hang in there - an extra round turn on the verandah post maybe. It must be a real cow to get flooded - I'm on the side of a hill, and if a flood ever reaches my place the whole country's in strife!
  14. Doesn't look too bad to me - certainly it's a good deal shorter than Matchbox would have had us build their NF.14!
  15. You might push a bit down this way, if you would - we've had a pretty dry summer in this part of the world, and those further to the west have had it a lot worse.
  16. If you can possibly fit it in, the Croydon Museum at Mandeville is well worth a visit. If you like between-the-wars de Havilland aircraft, it's heaven on a stick! When do you plan to be in Sydney?
  17. VH - WMA's trim was almost certainly dark blue - all CSIRO's aircraft had blue trim of one shade or another.
  18. I'd love one, but at nearly $AUS1000 (before postage!) it's well above my limit.
  19. As an articled clerk in the '60s, I have memories (nightmares?) of going up to Sydney to sit exams, in the company of one of my fellow clerks and in his FE Holden, and of watching the road go by under my feet through the rust holes in the floor ...
  20. I can't remember where the company was based - it could well have been in NZ. We were getting a lot of NZ-produced stuff in those days. I have a 1:96 Viscount, ex-Frog moulds, in the stash, and it's got a very prominent "Made in New Zealand" sticker on the front of the box. I think it was made by Tri-Ang, though.
  21. WNW can do a BE AFTER they do an Avro 504 ...
  22. Yep, sounds like every cat that's ever owned me ...
