  1. 22 hours you say.Astounding.Great model,absolutely flawless.
  2. Thanks for the comments guys.In reply to vulcanboy you are indeed right.Breakstuff, what a great song. The paints I used certainly contributed towards the good finish more than my limited skill. It's the first time I have used vallejo acrillics after previously using humbrol enamels.I only started using them because I was fed up with the drying time of enamels with my previous build taking over a week to paint as I like to use two or three coats. This painting was a bit of trail and error with me settling on about four very thin coats but with the drying time being about ten minutes it's still a far speedier process.Very good paints and certainly recommended to any brush wielders out there.
  3. Hi everyone. This was quite a tricky build requiring lots of filler due to some poor fitting panels but with perseverance turns out to be a very nice model. It was brush painted with vellejo model colour acrillics and humbrol metal cote, mixed to various shades for the bare metal areas.Tha only other problem I had during the build was cracking the front canopy when attempting to remove it after it fogged up due to the superglue even after it had two dips in klear.I managed to repair it the best I could but it does spoil the look a bit.Oh well, one can only learn from their mishaps.
  4. Thanks for the comments guys.In reply to Fisk the kit went together quite well but a few panels had to be filed to fit as many were no where near fitting, mainly where the wings join to the front of the fuselage and the engine covers as mentioned earlier.the top engine cover was especiaaly problematic as it needed bending to match the contours of the fuse and also thinning to an extent where in parts you could see through it before the paint went on.Apart from that it was quite straight forward and I think a bit of time spent dry fitting saves on using filler and thats got to be a good thing.
  5. Hi everyone.Great forum. This is my first post and only my second kit completed since returning to the hobby after 25 years.I started this kit just after christmas and it took me just over a month to complete. It was quite easy to put together with little filler butt there was alot of sanding and filing required to make alot of the panels to fit especially the engine covers which had to be thinned quite considerably.I'm not 100% happy with the results but i couldn't sand them any thinner without going right through but think they came out OK in the end.The whole model was painted with humbrol enamels(a bit old school I know but i'ts what I used as a kid and anyhow I have since purchased some vallejo acrillics which I have used to good effect on a su27 fulcrum which I am currently building-pictures soon). This whole project was a bit of a learning curve as it is the first time I have used weathering techniques and scratch building (I boxed the wheel wells).Weathering was done mostly with items i had laying around like ground up pencil dust and I used promodellers wash for the panel lines.
