As I'm contemplating trying them, I wonder if putting a bit of clingfilm over the top of the jar before putting on the lid might help ward of drying?

HMS Severn - River Class OPV (Batch 1) 1/350
seadog replied to robgizlu's topic in Work in Progress - Maritime
I keep looking at this one, but haven't got the spare cash just at the mo...but I'll probably find the money in the end :). Then, as you mention, there's the batch 2. Doomed. -

Stunning. My ships should be so good..I wish. The weathering is superb. BTW what is Ammo filter? Looked it up but can't see what it's for. One of the big disadvantages of living on the I.O.W. is that the cost of getting paint shipped over is rather high. Incidentally, having seen mention of it, I notice that Revells 1/144th scale Flower Class kits show up on Ebay for about £40 . Any good? -

Wonderful camo pattern! Kev's got a point! Mind you, the weathering in the photo is going to be...challenging Really enjoying watching your work on this one. -

She's looking stunning so far and I'm enjoying the progress! Noting you bought a Severn, I've been debating either her or one of thebatch 2 whenthey arrive. I'm fascinated by the commerative sheme they painted her in - something very different from grey overall -
Love it! Really nice build.

Having the tools is one thing. Having the skills to use them is another. Your work amazes me, stunning! -

Definitely following! A favourite type of small ship and the build is shaping up really nicely! I'm fascinated by the use of foam for a base - I'd like to use it for my T-Class. So far I haven't found it in any of the local Diy emporia's website...or am I not looking for the right thing? Choice is a bit limited here on the Island. Jewson? B&Q? -

Beautiful work! You can be very proud of her. -
So would I, however I didn't have the time to sort it etc. As I said, laziness. Faerings are fascinating small craft. Viking age Faerings were more slender and used three strakes to a side, really elegant. Of course, there's no kit of one. I have drawings and if I can get my act together, I shall attempt one.. Love these craft, and the big ones, like Roar Ege - again, not the best presentation, I'm afraid. The WIP for this one is here

Ouch. I'm afraid you're right . Quick snaps. Pure laziness with a fine camera! No thought to the background etc. I pwomise to twy harder😜

Cheers!

I've just been ruining my eyesight on a L'Arsenal offering - Damn it's tiny! I know that Micromaster in NZ do them, but in the current strike conditions I imagine they might not get here. Does anyone here stock their stuff? Or anyone know of locally made good'uns? The intended recipient only needs one...😜 Cheers Fraser

A good uncle! My young relatives are into computers and things like that (of course) so handing it on isn't on the cards -

I've given up on the Vosper at last. After five (or 6?) attempts at rebuilding the bridge with glasses that distort - and I'm not so sure about the small set square I have neither it's quite twisted. Dunno how I screwed up quite so bad but I do believe I've spent enough time on it. Chalk it off as a learning experience... -
Not as streamlined as the Viking aged boats but still pretty.

I've been reading this build with fascination to the point where I've just receive Starlings T-class model - the T class has fascinated me ever since I saw a bow-on shot and thought it looked a lot likes ome sort of mechanical sea monstrer Now I need to start researching paint etc. -
Looking good. 3d printing fascinates me. Wish it had been around when I would have really been able to get into it!
