  1. Hi Rob, nice to see some more progress on these, they're looking to be well on their way. Good to see the nippers taking an interest, mine at that age weren't interested at all. Got some of that Mr Hobby Iron myself at the Irish model show, love the smell. Sean
  2. Thanks guys, much appreciated, still on a very steep learning curve, by very enjoyable all the same. I've even bought another one with a 0.2 nozzle for mottle practise... Now Rob, don't be at it!! Trying to brush paint Mr Hobby IJN Green would drive you mad, ...as for the FW 190, that is not an easy model to make.... Sean
  3. Glad to hear you enjoyed Telford, you jammie f...eller. Any word on those engines?* Sean *This could easily turn into the new Guy Ritchie film about modelling, working title...Scratch. Turkish " What's happening with them engines, Ced? Ced " Five minutes, Turkish. Turkish "It was two minutes five minutes ago."
  4. Cheers Darby, funny you should mention mottle.... fw 190 004 by Sean McAleenan, on Flickr Thanks TT, nick away and save me a copy of the book please!! Thanks Stew, I find that hard to believe .... Thanks glatisant,, Thanks Michael.. Thanks Jason, can't ever recall hearing about this aircraft until I bought the kit. Time to get yours on the bench.... Sean
  5. Now that's rather neat. Well thought out and executed, a cracking dio, Sean
  6. It's been awhile since I've posted anything due to work overload, but with time at a premium, I finally managed to finish something. Hasegawa's kit of the Kawanishi N1K2-J, otherwise known as George, depicted as an aircraft of the 343rd Naval Kokutai, 301st Fighter Hikotai, flown by First Lieutenant Kanno 1945. The kit went together in usual Hasegawa style, and the kit decals went on with no problems at all. Usually this is the point where I'd say,"Brush painted with Humbrol Enamels", but not today. This is my first airbrushed model, using Mr Hobby Aqueous paints throughout, other than the prop. Why airbrushed? I had original painted this with a brush, but couldn't get the desired finish with the Mr Hobby IJN Green, so I looked into getting a starter airbrush set. I had already got one for my missus last Christmas as she bakes cakes, and reckoned this would help with decorating them. I was pretty impressed with how it worked and so looked into getting an airbrush to run off her compressor. As it turned out, I ended up bidding for a starter set on Ebay, and got it for an extra couple of quid over the price of an airbrush, result So after a couple of false starts, a few lessons learned, I actually got a nice enough finish and am quite pleased with the final result. So here is Hasegawa's George, airbrushed with Mr Hobby, a few details painted with Humbrol enamel, and finished with a coat of Mr Hobby Clear. Of course the photos show where the canopy needs some remedial work...damn and blast it... Thanks for stopping by.. Sean
  7. Hi Ced, I've been following this from afar lately, you're doing this superbly well and there's a chance the price of Concorde kits will rise in price on E-bay after this build. Another varied thread....shaft and hands.... ??....had to double check I was on the right site with that bit. Any word of the engines? Sean
  8. Excellent result T, you should be well chuffed with that. A bit of Heart too, always did like a bit of Ann and Nancy, Sean
  9. Looking good C, multiple popcorn icons needed for this one I reckon. I seen Concorde when we came home to Ireland from Oz, and had to transfer at Heathrow(?). It was taking off, and the racket was something else, glorious!! What's with the models on the table? Sean
  10. Brilliant diorama Adrian, superbly well modeled, Sean
  11. Excellent finish C, she looks really great now she's all done. Another fine build, and another marvellous wip, Sean
  12. Or a money off voucher for Halfords Appliance White, Sean
  13. I probably will from now on ...... Looking pretty good despite your troubles, certainly the coat of primer has given it a cleaner look. Sean
  14. Another superb Spitfire Steve, nice to see one painted differently, Sean
  15. Thanks Russ, look forward to seeing yours. Hi Roman, it is indeed a rare kit, in fact it's the only one in exsistance!! No markings for the Fiji A.F., badly out of register, what can one do?😕 Thanks for the comments, Sean
  16. Fond of Heller kits myself, that's a wonderful finished model, Sean
  17. Fantastic Tom cat Tony, another superb finish, well done on another epic build, Sean
  18. That does look rather fetching C, as I said in Tony O's American Spit Rfi , different yet reassureling familiar. Boy, when your thread goes west, it does in some style, but sure where else would you get it? Sean
  19. More respect then, a superb finish Chris. Was it an old tin or some of the overseas stuff? Sean
