  1. That looks really good, I love the weathering and general feel of it I see you had two of the 3 big problems with forgeworld kits, wrong parts (sometimes it seems they must get at least one part wrong in every kit), and bad mold lines, but not the third which is the release agent (I don't know what they use, but it drives my brother nuts trying to clean it off his models).
  2. Mike I didn't spot that, sorry (or rather I don't think it came up when i searched*, and i didn't think to read it [i read several about iwata models etc]). Little Cars, thanks for that information i'll get the magnifying glass out to check the status of the nozzle/needle as well, although hopefully that won't be the case as it's only had a few hours use (mainly practice) I think the hole I saw must be the one for the air to get into the mixing area (you're right, it's on the body not the nozzle). [edit] Knowing what to look for, and with the use of a pair of magnifying glasses/bright light, there is indeed a small clump of something in the nozzle, it must be tiny as it's only just showing (which would go with why the amount of liquid getting past it is quite small). I'll be giving the nozzle a clean again tomorrow , and keeping the magnifying goggles handy for future cleaning. *I think I searched for leak and iwata
  3. Cheers for the tips, i'll try that out tonight/tommorow. I'm guessing it'll turn out to be some dried paint in the nozzle, as when I was cleaning it there did seem to be a lot in there (I thought i'd got it all out).
  4. Hi, first post here in a long time. I got my Iwata Eclipse CS out for the first time in about 18 months* to practice with it whilst deciding on a dedicated compressor**. Anyway I gave it a good clean last night, and it seems to be leaking a small amount of fluid into the airstream when the lever is just pushed down (air only) and not pulled back. I've taken it apart again, given it another clean and applied medea lube to the needle, all the screws/nuts etc seem to be tight but it's still doing it. It might be worth mentioning at this point that the fluid currently being used is water, but I can't see that making much difference (I'm a cheapskate and don't like wasting paint to check something that can be checked with water - especially if it means i'd have to clean it again). There is no air bubbling into the paint cup that I can see. Does anyone have any ideas? (could the O ring at the front end have perished or something as it looks ok?) The only thing that does occur to me is that the nozzle has a small drilled hole, does it matter where it is? (top, sides, or bottom?), as it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the leaflet that came with the brush *Bought it to do some larger minatures, then got waylaid with building a new shed from scratch (which put the garage out of action for anything else) **I've been umming and arring over either one of the Iwata compressors, the H&S 16a, or a cheapy small one with tank (the H&S is calling to me though).
  5. I love the job you've done on that Tachikoma, am I right in believing it's the V2 as seen in the second series? (V1's seen in series one had wheels on the feet, the V2's had feet that worked as either wheels or flat feet iirc). I've been tempted by some of the Tachikoma kits as well, but know I don't have the skill or patience to do it justice
