  1. Oh, happy happy memories. I remember one Greenham (1974?) when the KC97 displayed with 2 USAFE F4’s - fantastic. And before I could drive (so pre 1975), sitting on the wall at Red Lodge one Sunday morning where the National Express coach stopped on the way to the ‘Hall, when 5 came over. Got to Mildenhall, not there….taxi to Lakenheath and voila! Thank you so much for posting, I loved the KC97’s (and C121’s, C131’s…..) SD
  2. And the first thing off the SOD…… oh, the irony. Needs a good dust SD
  3. It’s not going to win any prizes, but it’s done and looks okay. Will take photos for gallery in due course The kit decals were a challenge (that’s an understatement). I did replace the roundels though. Built out of the box, with slightly modified seat and intakes SD
  4. Almost done. Should have this finished tomorrow, then I will turn my attention to the shelf of doom (which is substantial) SD
  5. Hi, need some help please. Mrs SD is very keen to visit her middle son in Western Australia next year. Whilst this is lovely, I plan a couple of side trips that I can tag on at the start or end of the journey. So, question to our New Zealand friends Wararapa or Omaka? Or anything else? Can only do one, not both (unfortunately) And moving on to Australia, last time I was there I sat at the end of the runway at Newcastle and photographed the first batch of brand new F18’s - I dread to think how long ago that was. However, my question does not relate to that. My question is, is Avalon Show worth a visit? Or is it a massive trade show, a bit like Farnborough or Paris? The bulk of the trip will be based at Margaret River, but given we are likely to be away for around 8 weeks, plenty of time to do some selected air show type activities many thanks in advance SD
  6. That’s the decals done for the port side, will do the rest tomorrow SD
  7. Having a bit of a mare with the decals, but very keen to use the originals, if at all possible. Replaced roundels as the Matchbox ones were badly out of register. Airfix SHAR decal sheet on standby, just in case SD
  8. Will aim to get some decals on this afternoon, if not, tomorrow SD
  9. I bought 24 Airfix 1/48 Lightnings when they first came out and I don’t even build in that scale! That said, I did build about half of them, very many years ago Nice job on your pair, look great SD
  10. Quick blast of EDSG, will give a light sanding and second coat tomorrow. Model Railway club now and cinema this afternoon. Cant cope with this retirement lark! SD
  11. Hello again its ‘High Temperature Heat Resistant Making Tape’ possibly going by the name of Polymide Kapton Insulation Tape. works well if I’m in a rush or can’t buy proprietary masks SD
  12. Morning Rabbit Leader. I can’t remember what it’s called but it was a suggestion on a BM thread a few months ago. It’s was relatively expensive but very easy to trim. I’ll see if I can find out what it is, stand by SD
  13. It’s been a few days, but finally masked and ready for the EDSG, hopefully tomorrow SD
  14. Tiny update, wings attached and a quick spray of primer SD
  15. It’s a commercial database and includes both civil and military. Worth noting that the total number of types does NOT include sub-variants, so, for example, the Boeing 747 is listed in the total as just that, not a 100,200,300,400,800. Does that make sense, had a bit of a late night! SD
  16. I really like these Citadel Minatures and your builds are always an inspiration. Killaboss is no exception. So much so, I’ve just treated myself to ‘Akhelian Allopex’, hopefully I’ll get round to building it SD
  17. Morning doubt this is a definitive answer, but according to my database, there are: 10,563 types listed (and this does include 2 Wright Flyers!) 1,924,420 airframes recorded SD
