  1. Thanks. I had seen that, but really need the instructions sheet. Regards Richard
  2. Hi Oz Thanks for that, I have heard the FM kit has some "interesting" quirks, but yeah the Italeri instructions may help. No rush though. Richard
  3. Hi Just looking for a picture of the instructions for the FM LCVP kit. I've got the kit and no instructions so if someone has the kit and is willing to take a photo of them it would be most appreciated. TIA Richard
  4. Ok thanks Mike. Didn't come through so may have mistyped my address. Just PM'd you. Richard
  5. Thanks Jamie, I have contacted them through the website a few days ago but not had a reply.
  6. Hi Does anybody know of a UK stockist that has the new 1/700 Orange Hobby Midway in stock, google only brings up Starling but they are out of stock. TIA. Richard
  7. Thanks Phil, I though that would be the case, but just needed reassuring! Great build BTW!
  8. Hi Alistair Really like your idea, this should look great when it's done, I'm not going to be that adventurous with mine! Can I ask a question, what does the Airfix instructions say that the interior colour should be? I'm assuming its interior green but the Trumpeter instructions are somewhat confusing and keep making references to "sky" as they colour?? Richard
  9. Thanks for that, It really does help, I've never used Montex Stencils before, but it would certainly allow me to do what I have in mind, hmmmmm, where's my wallet?
  10. Hi all... Time to throw my hat into the ring for this one. Going through my stash and there were plenty of subjects I could have chose (planes, Armour, & Ships) but I've been staring at this one for quote a while now, and very few things embody D-Day more than the C-47, so here goes...... The obligatory box shots.... I'll be adding just a couple of extras, in the form of the Eduard Zoom set, and True Details wheels. I'll also use the Eduard masks. The only other decision to make is the markings?? I really want to do "Turfsport Special" but this is labeled as a Market Garden aircraft. I know it did fly on D-Day but i think the large code letters would have been white on the 6th June. Perhaps someone can confirm. I may look to buy the Xtradecal C-47 set or (if I can find them) one of the Eagle Strike sets (does anyone know where I can still buy these???). Basically what I am saying is that the final markings are TBC! Anyway roll on D-Day and let the plastic cutting commence. Richard
  11. I'm jealous, I've been waiting for L'Arsenal to produce the Mulberry Harbour parts in 1/700 for 2 years now. I have a fleet of LST's, an APA, a Rhino Ferry, and a couple of Liberty Ships all waiting in the stash for it. Hope you get yours built, would love to see it.... Richard
  12. Hi guys, Can I be included into this GB, I've been gazing at the Trumpeter C-47 in my stash for quite a while now, and this seem the perfect excuse to build it! Richard
  13. Beautiful build Stuart. Really nice work on the painting, weathering, and chipping!
  14. Hi Time for a bit of an update. Got most of the cockpit painted and now dry fitted., just a bit of weathering to go and the fuselage, wings and float can all start to come together. Here's the progress so far.... More to follow very soon. Richard
  15. Just a small update, while I have been getting on with painting the cockpit and waiting for those parts to dry, I made a start on a bit of a diorama base. I am hoping that if I give it another coat of the gel, and then add some white to the crests it will look OK. Hope to add an update with the cockpit done this week. Richard
  16. Great progress, all that extra effort to get it right is really worth it. Makes me grateful for the True Details resin in my kit! Rich
  17. Hi Just a small update. I've assembled the float, and made a start on the cockpit and navigator/observers station. Managed to get some of the resin primed last night, hopefully ready for a coat of Interior Green over the weekend. I've decided that I'm going to try and do a small diorama, or at least have the plane in the water (I just don't think they look right on wheels), and I'm going to go with the markings on the top of the picture below, mainly because I'm not a big fan of the stars and bars with the red surround, but still plenty of time to change my mind! Rich
  18. Thanks for that, I have just ordered a copy from Amazon. I have got some ideas for a little diorama and hopefully there will be some decent pictures in there. Only problem I have now is that I need some figures/pilots as the Czech Model kit doesn't come with any, probably have to go looking for some spares from a Monogram Kingfisher kit. Andy - I really like the Czech model kits too, I have a Skyknight in the stash, and last year I build the T-34 Turbo Mentor, there not the easiest things to put together, but coming with all the resin parts you really can just build them from the box. Richard
  19. Hi Been looking forward to this GB for a while. So many choices in the stash to choose from, but it was between this and a 72nd scale Hasegawa SP-5B Marlin, but in the end I wasn't in the mood for something so big, so this kit won out! I am going to be building the Curtiss SO3C Seamew, in 1/48 by Czech Model. and here is the obligatory sprue shots... I'm not sure which of the marking choices I am going to use yet, I'll decide that as I go along. Does anybody know where I can find some shots of these aircraft being pulled out of the water by the ships crane? Hope you like the choice. Richard
  20. Hi Can't remember if I put my name down for this GB or not, but I fancy building the Czech Model Curtiss SO3C Seamew that I have in the stash, if no one objects to me joining? Does anybody know of a source of any photo's of Seamew's in the water or photo's showing where the ships crane attached, there seems to be a lack of good reference material on them! Richard
  21. Thanks Tony, I hadn't seen that site before. A late Italeri 1/35 PT boat is my plan too. Richard
  22. Ooops just realised this is in the wrong section..... any chance of moving it to the WWII thread? Thanks
  23. Hi Was just wondering if anybody had any info on US Navy Eclo 80 PT Boats that were used in the Atlantic and possibly around D-Day. I know there was at least one squadron stationed over here, but what I really wanted to know was what paint scheme they carried. Did they have the same 3 Green Camo that they had in the Pacific (seems unlikely to me), where they just plane Grey, or was there a special Camo for the Atlantic? Goggle hasn't yielded anything positive so I was hoping that someone here might know? Cheers Richard
