Hi All, Bit of a lurker I admit but enjoy a bit of placcy modelling when I get time which isn't as often as I would like. Anyway my first hobby which is on hold at the moment is model engineering. I have built a 5" gauge English Electric class 37 which is powered by two 12v car batteries in series to give 24v. These supply the current to drive 4 electric motors in the bogies. Still want to finish a steam loco I started but having a three year old spare time is very limited. Here's a youtube link to a bit of vid of me driving a friends Southern Railway S15.

What a cutie! Congrats to you both. Enjoy the relative quiet life while you can. Mines just turned three and is bolshie as you like. Still love him with all my heart though. You get used to the 'honking'. You'll also get peed on at some point and I'm sure they know exactly what they're doing. I also remember changing his nappy for a dry one once when he decided it was poo time. If you want to replicate the effect stamp as hard as you can on a tube of toothpaste. Many, many congratulations. Bang goes the modelling time! Ask me how I know. Every second worth it though. Mine is 3 next Monday. Big party planned this Sunday at a soft play area for him and nursery called today to say they were pretty sure he has Chicken Pox. Been a few cases there. Don't think I had ever built a model aged 7 let alone painted one. Keep up the good work Sammy.

Scalelink had strong model railway connections doing lots of etched brass sheets for railings, gates etc. Not sure if 1:32 works out for one of the larger scales for narrow gauge model railways. i.e. the 2 foot narrow gauge stuff used to bring ammo up to the front during WW1. Just used some lifecolour for the first time on a Spit I'm building and have to say the it sprayed really well. Iused their own thinners BTW. Regards, Mark

I think that the starboard light should have a blue tint to it to allow the yellow filament of the bulb to show green. Blue/yellow make green. This was certainly true of semaphore signals on the railways where the spectacle plate had a blue lens to show green when combined with the yellow flame from the oil lamp.

How much is the P&P on it?

To be honest I really don't find it noisey at all. Maybe if I was building models for a living and was using it 8+ hours a day it would be a different matter. Then again maybe i'm just going deaf. Couldn't afford a Bambi compressor anyway but it was certainly quieter than my old comp that didn't have a tank. Regards

Hi I can recommend Everything Airbrush. I got my H&S Evo 2 in 1 and AB-AS189 compressor which I can highly recommend, nice and quiet, from them last year. Ordered it about 3pm and it was in my house the next day by 2pm. Great service. Cheers, Mark
