F153 - 1/72 Miles Magister (converted to Mk.1) This represents an early Mk.1 Magister, used for aerobatics at the Central Flying School in 1937. It utilises aftermarket conversion parts and decals by LF Models. The Build Thread is here, if you would like to see the surgery ! Cheers

Thank you @AdrianMF, @Johnson and @Rabbit Leader Earlier this morning I declared this one finished (notwithstanding the incorrectly shaped windscreens ). As I've mentioned before, I was expecting this build to be OOB with just a fancy paint job and a few aftermarket decals. How wrong that proved to be! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it and appreciated all the help and support from fellow BMers . Thanks again to @JOCKNEY and @Rabbit Leader for hosting this great GB. Cheers

My mid-70s re-issue still requires you to cut the numbers from the instruction sheet. I'll have to find an alternative and luckily 1/32 appears to be a favourite of the slot-racing fraternity. Hopefully I'll find some suitable aftermarket decals there. Cheers

Thanks Dennis. Yes, it's a tri-motor and was used by Imperial Airways on their European routes. As in the States, it was part of a move towards multi-engine safety on commercial aircraft. Thanks Col. At one time there was a very active 1/200 'One True Scale', movement in the UK. There were several 'cottage industry' producers working in metal and/or resin. Sadly, most of the protagonists have now passed away, although a few remain, largely in support of the wargaming market. The new kids on the block are the 3D-printers - they're output is prolific, but IMHO lacks the character of the 'old school' producers . Thank you . I'm slowly getting to appreciate metal as a medium. It's still a pain to work with, but at least the finished results are satisfyingly heavy! Cheers

Hi again everyone. In addition to my Bentley, I'm also hoping to build at least one Golden Age aircraft. A big biplane with three engines would seem to be a good place to start . Luckily, I have this 1/200 scale, white metal kit which was produced in the UK by Helmet Models. My second-hand example has no box or instructions, but does at least have some (slightly yellowed), Imperial Airways decals. Cheers

Hi all. First up from me will be my attempt to create the 'ultimate' 1/32 Le Mans Bentley Blower, by using the best bits from each of these two kits . Generally speaking, the Pyro is the better of the two, but is let down badly by Pyro's decision to simply use the body parts from their Bentley Straight-Six kit, rather than create new ones for the Le Mans So basically, I'll be using the Airfix bodywork/chassis and the Pyro bits for everything else. I actually started this project a couple of years ago, but progress is well below 25%. When I'm finished, I'll still be left with one complete, un-made kit, but unfortunately comprising all the worst bits! I'll be open to offers . Cheers

Thanks everyone for your generous comments! I've been left with half a tin of NIVO paint and, by coincidence, only one suitable kit in my stash. It's a 1/200 resin Heyford, so it sounds like I may have a candidate for the Golden Age GB
