They should be easy enough to do with shaped sheet plastic. I didn't bother because I quite like it, it's different.

I'm calling this finished now. I just got to make it an appropriate base but the main construction and painting's done. Put quite a lot of work into making this look not so much of a toy. Had to drill three holes and two slots in each side of the container pod because surprise surprise Revell didn't include them.

I've got this one in the attic somewhere as well as the F16 one. I managed to get the heads up display working on the F16 one.

He is the tiny hidden ( sort of ) switch that now does the electrics. Hopefully now one will notice it that much. Just noticed the seam I missed as well. Nearly finished with the base colour. Got a bit more to do then weathering and decide what happens with the big orange panels. Little video showing the electronics working and the benefit of a bigger speaker. Still got to dim those gun lights.

Great work so far. I know there was a ton of work involved in getting all of that up off the base. I did think about doing that with mine but with so many kits to build and so little time I strengthened the underneath with wood.
-
I will try and tone them down a bit, they are a bit too bright but I think it worked.
-
Really have put too much work into this now. But I couldn't help myself I wanted to add the two red lights underneath the guns.

Here's the feet and most of the legs complete and I'm going to stop working on them now.
-
Petrol caps next.. Take a couple of these, ...a few minutes in the lathe and the addition of some carved sheet plastic
-
These feet are so basic. Lots to do on them I made a template from Tamiya putty to help scribe panel lines on all the feet. Once I'd scribed them all an added more panel detail. I'm thinking it would've been quicker to do one and make a mold of it. Still a bit more to do yet.

Here's what the inside looks like. I've moved all the electronics from the head to here. Also upgraded to a laptop speaker. The orange side panels are going to be held on by magnets.
-
Made these parts for the rear of the car. What a pain they were.

Update coming soon

More messing about with filler.

This is what I've done for the round bit on the front. Not exactly accurate but I'm not that bothered, I've put too much work into this so far. It's made of a wheel off a Ford Taurus with a tank wheel inserted into the middle.
-
This is what I was digging for.
-
Will do. Yeah I looked into buying the "upgrade set" from Shapeways but this kit only cost me a tenner so it makes the extra bits seem quite dear.

As the title says I am going to be tackle in Revells Rogue One AT ACT. Remember when these first came out I noticed that they were "click and play" and I thought they were not going to be something I'd waste my time on. Anyway just before Christmas Lidl's had a few models in there from Star Wars which were only a £9.99 so I thought I'd take the chance. The first thing I did was some major plastic surgery on the head to get the sound module out and the LED lighting.

Lol no idea yet, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it ( or ask the missus )

Yes because it seemed like i was the only one responding to the updates

Being as this was, a ) a big spaceship and b ) a Star Trek themed thread, I thought there'd be more interest in this build. Apparently not.

I've never seen one of these being built on any forum since buying one myself ages ago. Great job Lee. Feel inclined to get mine on the bench now.

Had mine in the attic for ages before deciding it's got to be done. It's a great kit and subject which makes it all the more weird that no ones bothered to re-do it. Still look how long it took us to get decent kits of the Enterprise, Proteus and the Flying Sub. Here's how mine turned out. ( with a few optic fibres and leds added) -
