  1. Nice show arrived at about 09:45 and parked on the same road as I have used for the last two shows only a couple of blocks away. Nice to meet up with a few friends. Managed to reign in my spending quite well. Some paints, a couple of publications from Phoenix stand and a couple of very nicely priced kits from the Models For Sale company stand. Always visit this stand and am never disappointed or leave empty handed! Well done to all concerned with the planning and running of the show and see you next year I hope. Pat
  2. Great show, spent some money and kept going in the wrong direction around the "Loop" back on myself πŸ˜‚
  3. Good grief, does that mean we have 2-3 more years of people guessing what they scanned? πŸ˜‚
  4. As an ex Phantom maintainer in the RAF, this looks Phantastic! I have a Tamiya F4B, so looking forward to all that stencil placing, maybe not. Great work.
  5. P47D-30RA β€˜Tarheel Hal’ my favourite P47! Always liked the look of it and was surprised to find it and take some pictures of it it a museum in Galveston Texas. Was about to buy 48001, but now this is in the pipeline my cash is on hold. I wonder when it is scheduled for release. Pat
  6. Bought some paints and tools off Paul's stand. Couple of other bargains picked up around the hall, a satisfactory morning. Pat
  7. I think it was. Well done Alfie and his team, take a rest mate and enjoy the show. Pat (or Brum from our days on the Vulcan)
  8. My dyslexic fingers strike again! PS-270 is what I did mean. It does look the business according to my research. I will be purchasing one, hopefully this week. I don't think I will need a 0.18, I hope, Thanks again for your information.
  9. Thank you Mike, hindsight I should have started a new thread I think. I am now being steered towards a Mr Hobby PS-870, especially after watching the Flory review of it. Yes it’s a single 0.2 nozzle, but I will keep my NEO for larger areas.
  10. Good evening knowledgeable gentlemen. I have a Iwata Neo CN at the moment but would like to get something that can do finer lines. I have been steered towards a Harder & Steenbeck with the two needle / nozzles 0.2 & 0.4mm. I thought I was home and dry then, I have allocated about Β£150 ish for this. Evolution Silverline 2 in 1 Airbrush v2, HARDER & STEENBECK EVOLUTION 2 IN 1 (V2.0), Harder & Steenbeck Ultra 2 in 1. Then I looked at Amazon and got even more confused. I do mainly aircraft, but would like to try some camouflage schemes now. I was told I should probably try a 0.2 for some, but still have a larger 0.4 for other areas. Can anyone suggest any particular model numbers, or even possibly manufacturers? Pat
  11. Bond Bug YES! Oh yeah and the Gannet and a couple of other things as well
  12. "I would have thought a Lysander would be on the Airfix to do list in 1/48 as they are poorly represented in kit form" Not my thing but didn't Eduard do the Lysander in 1/48?
  13. dim and distant past, was it Door 83 left and right used to puncture our shoulders both overalls and skin? Armourers access I think to missiles maybe.
  14. Sounds like Leslie Philips in the "Navy Lark" , a history lesson!
  15. It would have to be 44(R) for me as well due to serving on that fine squadron.
  16. Delivery just being unpacked in a model shop in York. Resisted temptation for now despite wife asking if I wanted it for my birthday! I’m suspicious now, what has she bought for herself I haven’t seen?
  17. Fantastic picture "Work In Progress" of the 8AEF Chippy. I can't believe it I have been trying to find photos of the Chipmunks I flew in, the first two were from 8AEF WB569 and WP859. My friend AMB who contributes to this forum sent me a brilliant photo of WP859 in the grey day-glo scheme as it would have been in in 1972. I am looking for any ideas of colour schemes of/or photo's of 8AEF WB569 in 1971, WK577 5AEF in 1973 and WK624 10AEF in 1976. The last I think was in the grey and red colour scheme. First Airfix one will have to be in WP859 if a decal sheet to help appears (Xtradecal?)
  18. Ground crew on them on 60 Sqdn, pain in the "A" hand cleaning them when they landed after every trip. The photo/VIP/ CASEVAC ones all got treated the same. Good fun ground running them at night with the cowlings off. With the power setting right you could get the exhaust system glowing cherry red.
  19. True ! You give them a perfectly serviceable aircraft and they will break it. Aircraft engineer for 45 years plus, military and airliners πŸ‘πŸ˜‚
