  4. I'll certainly pass on anything I find 👍
  5. Hi guys, I wonder if anyone has any information of photos on this particular airframe. I've got many off the internet of the jazzy splinter scheme currently applied but I have n't found any of the cockpit or seat. Can anyone post photos or links to these areas please? Also, has anyone ever created decals or masks for this airframe in her current splinter scheme in 1/32nd scale? Many thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers.
  6. Magnificent job 👍 That's a superb model. Well done
  7. Nice work so far 👍 i like the idea of a wooden figurehead but a metallic one would be more durable in battle perhaps? I have never seen those two points connected. I look forward to seeing what you do. Cheers
  8. Thanks guys. Really appreciate the positive feedback 👍
  9. Thanks riever49, much appreciate the kind words. Good to hear you had a -5 too. They really are a lovely little car. Cheers. 👍
  10. Wait..... this is the model?😲 Wow! Genuinely amazing. Great job.👍
  11. Thanks JeroenS, I appreciate the kind words. Glad you like them .👍 Hi Anteater, thanks, much appreciated. In answer to your question, the quilting is the soft metal foil used on some fizzy wine bottles cut to shape and painted red. HTH 👍
  12. Hi guys, thanks for kind words and positive feedback, very much appreciated 👍. @Spiny, I can see your point and it makes alot of sense, cheers. Stay safe and keep well all.
  13. Hello everybody. I hope everyone is safe and well. During these strange times I, like so many others, find myself with a little extra time on my hands. I have quite a few projects that have been stalled for a while now and the culprit is a full sized car. While looking for some inspiration I saw a comment online that pointed me to Kent models. They were selling an Aoshima MX-5 in 24th scale. I had been looking for the MkII version for a while and so this was a sign for me. The model is a kerbside model so hidden detail is limited. The parts count is not too high and I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything fitted. A small amount of mold line clean up before I started and I was on my way. The colour scheme is based on real life but I mixed the green colour which is too light really. Working on this was great fun but it did remind me of just how skillful you model car guys are! When I see the other models on this forum I marvel at how shiny everyone manages to make their paintwork. It's enormously difficult to get a scale finish that looks realistic. I opted to model the biscuit leather interior with wood wheel and features simply to add visual interest. The kit supplies the hard top, soft top and stowed soft top which is a neat touch. ................................................................................................................................................................................................... The whole thing did n't actually take very long to complete but having enjoyed the model so much I decided to try another. This time I plumped for the Tamiya Mk1 kit and found one online for a very reasonable price. The kit was very similar to the Aoshima kit in layout and went together beautifully. Again, there was a little mold line clean up to perform but nothing too difficult. As you can see, I went for a different scheme this time. Once again pics on the internet provided inspiration and for this one I strayed from out of the box a bit. I added a quilted leather interior often seen on modified cars. These were super fun and I can heartily recommend either (or both) kit as a basis for a presentable model. Neither of these are up to the standards of many on here when closely inspected (gluey fingerprints, smudgy glass etc) but they're ok from a foot away and I'm happy with them. To finish off here are a few fun pics. The two together...... and a few "outdoor" shots. Thanks for having a look. I hope you enjoy the models and please feel free to add any comments, feedback or advice. Cheers.
  14. Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.
  15. Hi gang, Just wondering whether anyone depicts car tyres with weight on them and if so, how do they do it? I'm thinking 1:24th scale road cars in particular. Is it worth doing at that scale? Could sanding a small flat spot on each wheel be sufficient to create the look? Interested in everyone's thoughts on the subject. Cheers.
  16. Nice start. The more I see of these being built the more I want to have a go at one myself. Looking forward to more. Cheers.
  17. Matra rocket pod? Sorry I can't help with the decal placement though.
  18. Neat idea nicely rendered, well done. Most inspirational. Cheers.
  19. Cracking photos Tom. Like you, I like to build aircraft that I've photographed too. My aim is to get down to Lakenheath sometime this year but I'm waiting until the weather improves. Any hints or tips on where to park and the best days to go is much appreciated. I look forward to your next Eagles. Cheers
  20. Nice job Tom, just the red and blue tail jets to do for the set then? You've probably seen this one overhead at some point on it's way to the North sea ranges. Well done. Cheers.
  21. I have mixed emotions. Joy at seeing the beautiful results of your labour but tinged with a touch of sadness at the end of one of my favourite threads. Thanks so much for taking us along for the ride and congratulations on a splendid rendition of a Wessex. Cheers.
  22. Very neat model Mike. The diorama is very convincing with the addition of the Reedoak figures. The exhaust looks like the Aires version. Did you apply all of the rivet texture yourself? Also, are the FAST packs from the Tamiya kit? The whole job is splendid, well done. Cheers.
  23. That takes me back. I have a copy of that book. Very nice job on your early Eagle, most inspirational. thanks for sharing.
  24. I could n't agree with Houston more Gary. Magnificent images. Thanks for sharing them. Good eyes to capture the Buff high overhead. Amazing to think that these are passing unseen over Lincolnshire, possibly mistaken for airliners by those who see the con trails.
