  1. Loving those exhausts. Are they the resin set included by Kotare? You've made a good job of them. 👍 Superb Spitfire all round.
  2. The above image is by kind permission of Ivor. Many thanks Ivor. It's a great reference and is just the ticket. Cheers.👍
  3. Many thanks Ivor. Message sent. As far as you're aware, are the fuel caps the same across the marks? The Airfix Spit is a Mk IX. Cheers
  4. Thanks again. I've dry fitted the insert into the fuselage and only the filler cap can be seen From this discussion I'll go with a dark, metallic grey. Many thanks everyone. Cheers Edit* One thing that is obviously different berween the filler cap in Jure's image and the Airfix offering is 3 v 2 pins to tighten or loosen the cap. I'm not averse to adding a third pin if that was typical. Do we have any further reference photos of a filler cap please?
  5. @Ray_W & @Jure Miljevic, thanks guys. Very informative and useful information. Glad I didn't just go with my guess 😁 Your help is much appreciated, Cheers
  6. Hello everyone, Can anyone suggest what colour the fuel tank was and the filler cap too please? I'm guessing black for the fuel tank and dirty brass for the filler cap but I haven't found any clear images of that area. Many thanks for any info. Cheers.
  7. Hi all, Forgive me for posting up a Spitfire question outside of the "All you want to know" Spitfire topics but I searched them without success. My query is whether WW II era machines were fitted with map lights in the cockpit? I'm tarting up the cockpit of a 1/24th scale Spitfire Mk IX so map lights plus their associated wiring might add some visual busyness and interest. All help and input is appreciated. Cheers.
  8. Great work Craig. Thanks for the heads-up on the Eduard exhausts. They'll be a must have for me along with a set of those masks. Enjoy your hols. Cheers
  9. Bloomin' 'eck. "Fishtail exhausts were needed and so drawn" Just like that. I would struggle to draw a circle let alone a comlplex shape like a fishtail exhaust. Crumbs! Serious question, how long before you design and print a whole aircraft Steve? Judging by this nose section it can't be far off? Brilliant stuff amd thoroughly enjoyable to follow, keep it up. Cheers.
  10. Lovely work as usual Craig. You could try Here for masks. Someone may be able to help. HTH, Cheers
  11. Nope. No way. Nuh huh. That is not a scale model. That is 1:1 set in a studio. Isn't it? Crikey! What a gem. Cracking job sir, take a bow. Now, how do you plan on replicating the tent? Brillian stuff, well done. Cheers.
  12. Lovely work Craig. I think part #53 is a pad for the headrest armour not called out by Airfix. Not sure about the others.
  13. I had been viewing these on my phone and the looked superb but I saw them on my pc and my goodness! They honestly took my breath away and whistle outloud (not an easy feat I can tell you). Without reference I would defy anyone to guess the scale. These little gems could easily be mistaken for much larger scale models. Absolutely brilliant. Cheers.
  14. Hello everyone. I am looking for some help to do with a component replicated on the new 1/24th scale Airfix Spitfire mk IX In the below image it's the pieces #D56 & #D44 On earlier Spitfires a voltage regulator was fitted in that location but images I've seen on the internet differ in shape from what Airfix have created. Edit* Answer found by Dennis, thanks Dennis. It is another version of a voltage regulator. A 5UC/5822 by the looks of it. Cheers.
  15. Utterly remarkable Steve. As other esteemed members have remarked, these are some of the finest 1/72nd scale models we've ever witnessed. Brilliant job on both aircraft and now a question........how? I mean I've read what you've done and I understand the processes but the question remains.......simply how? I am very eager to see what you build next whether it be a 1/48th scale Defiant or a 1/32nd scale Hurricane. Whatever it is I know the build is highly likely to be informative, eye opening and ultimately entertaining. Thanks so much for taking us all along for the ride, it's been a pleasure. Cheers
  16. Awesome update. 👍 I can certainly appreciate the amount of effort you're putting in and it looks superb. Well done.
  17. Cor! Bloomin' luvverly guv'nor. Steve, what a tremendous achievement. Well done and huge thanks for such an entertaining and informative topic. Personally I've learnt much along the way and I'm already looking forward to your next adventure. Brilliant stuff, take a bow sir. Cheers
  18. That's a pleasingly complex looking cockpit and surround. This shaping up to be a cracking build. Nice one.
  19. Cor! That's luvverley. Neat job Craig (and Airscale of course). Hopefully these sets will be on general release before too long. 🤞
  20. Crumbs! These are rather good. 👍 Yes, I have a Masters in understatement. 🙂 Enjoy the slopes Steve. Cheers
  21. Beautiful Viggen, well done. This is the first JetMads 1/32nd scale one that I've seen in bare metal and it looks superb. 👍
