I am currently collecting kits of all Battle of Britain aircraft at 1:48, 1:32 and 1:24 scales. I have aimed to get the biggest scale for each aircraft, but will also include a 'complete' 1:48 scale collection. Some of the less prominent aircraft have only been issued by such manufacturers as Hobbycraft or Classic Airframes at the scales I am seeking. I have managed to get hold of a CA Defiant, although it is the early release, which means it has the incorrect fatter fuselage. I have also got my eye on a CA Mk1 Blenheim.
The one aircraft that is proving elusive, is the Dornier Do 17Z. It has been produced by CA, but is very difficult to find, even on international e-bay. The Hobbycraft version is just as elusive, but it also has the renowned banana fuselage. What I have been thinking about is the alternative possibility of getting the existing Revell Do 217 E-4 and converting it to a 17 Z. Has anyone attempted this and if so, how easy/difficult was it, if it is at all feasable?
Many thanks in advance for any helpful comments or suggestions.
Regards
Sean
