  1. Hi Keith If you do manage to find the spare canopy and turret, please let me know. I can send you a box and P+P to return them, plus any cost that you would want for them. Thanks Sean
  2. Thanks Troy You're right, it is the original issue with the slightly fatter fuselage. If I am to try smash molding, what thickness of sheet do you normally use? Also, will it be ok applying to Vacform without the heat deforming the original? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks Sean
  3. I have a 1/48 Classic Airframes Boulton Paul Defiant in my stash, which I was thinking of starting next. However, when I took a look amongst the box contents, I noticed that the vacuform canopies have got a yellow tint to them. I have done a search on other forums, but I haven't come across any solutions to 'fix' the problem, other than reform a new one and I don't have any experience or confidence in doing this. There aren't any after market canopies for this kit either. Has anyone found any secret 'cleaning' methods or an alternative canopy set that could be modified to fit? Many Thanks Sean
  4. After quite a while since this post was started, I found that Hannants have come across some CA versions, which also appear in a separate Britmodeller post. They have sold out of the Finnish version, but as of 28th December, there are 7 Luftwaffe versions left: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/CF4115 I managed to get a Luftwaffe version, so I am a happy chappy, with a decent Do17 in my 'to do' collection.
  5. Hi Jerry Thanks for this alternative manufacturer. I will keep these in mind if I can't get any CA or Hobbycraft versions, as most reviews of Kitech are not very good (bad copies apparently). Thanks again Sean
  6. Hi J Do you possibly have any links to the CA models that you found, as the only ones I have come across are out of stock links for such suppliers as Relish Models. Many Thanks Sean
  7. Thanks Bill. I am not really up with this kind of information, so it's good to get informed feedback. I think I will just need to scour e-bay for a Classic Airframes 17 Z (unless of course, anyone knows of one that is available elsewhere?). Thanks again. Sean
  8. I am currently collecting kits of all Battle of Britain aircraft at 1:48, 1:32 and 1:24 scales. I have aimed to get the biggest scale for each aircraft, but will also include a 'complete' 1:48 scale collection. Some of the less prominent aircraft have only been issued by such manufacturers as Hobbycraft or Classic Airframes at the scales I am seeking. I have managed to get hold of a CA Defiant, although it is the early release, which means it has the incorrect fatter fuselage. I have also got my eye on a CA Mk1 Blenheim. The one aircraft that is proving elusive, is the Dornier Do 17Z. It has been produced by CA, but is very difficult to find, even on international e-bay. The Hobbycraft version is just as elusive, but it also has the renowned banana fuselage. What I have been thinking about is the alternative possibility of getting the existing Revell Do 217 E-4 and converting it to a 17 Z. Has anyone attempted this and if so, how easy/difficult was it, if it is at all feasable? Many thanks in advance for any helpful comments or suggestions. Regards Sean
