  1. Hello Troy:

I like Hawker Hurricane so much, so I read a lot discussions on Britmodeller about this aircraft and noticed your comments. It seems you have great passion on it and know much about it that I don't know. I read you mentioned several times that Trumpeter 1/24 Hurricane Mk.I is nice. I tried to search more info about this kit, but there are too much discussions about Hurricane on Britmodeller to find it. So I think it will be better to learn and enquire it from you directly. Are there any defects on appearance details of this kit? What about MK.II? I have only 1/48 Airfix and Hesegawa kits on hand, if there are not much defects or mistakes, it will be excited for me to make the 1/24 scale one. Hope my questions won't bother you.

    Thank you

Hi happy to answer questions.   I don't have the Trumpeter Mk.I, but I have the IIC trop.

I copied up the Bentley plans and it matches those very well, and it also looks right in shapes not obvious from planes.

Some of the smaller details are wrong, and I'm not a fan of the recessed rivet detail.

The decals are likey to be poor in accuracy though.

Which 1/48th Airfix? new tool I presume.

The 48th Hase is overall good, the fabric is badly done, biggest fault and not easy to correct.

email if easier, my PM box is full, can make space in that if you prefer.

      Hi Tony, so have I.

Sent what I had, FWIW, there are drawings in the old PSL book tied in the 1/24th Airfix kit, and they are also on the Bentley drawings, which I'd trust more.

      cheers

The site puts candles next to your name now if there is birthday listed,  as I was meaning to tidy up my messy posting on recce Hurricanes,(not my best work!)  I noticed them, wondered, checked and thought it might be a neat thing to do, seems it was :)

Hope the Hurricane info was use,  I must see if Dave Wadman aka tango98,  has done any more with his Hurricane project... he told me that had 1.5 TB of data!

      Enjoy your day

  6. Hi Troy,

Question for early Hurricanes, with the interior silver, what colour should the undercarriage and bay be?

    Thanks Colin W

      Hi Colin

ALL internals apart from the cockpit side walls and rear bulkhead were painted aluminium,  this includes UC well, gun bays, engine bays.
